Asprey is noticeably missing from the handbag section..why is that?
Isn't it hot commodity? Is it plain boring?

Thanks for bringing this up Hanne. Your right there is no topic on Asprey. I'll have to check out their stuff. is it just on the website?

Yes all the bags I posted are from their web site :flower:

Probably because they are really mature, but yet not overmarketed like LV and not as iconic as Hermes. The brand doesn't have much exposure outside of the UK, I think. They had this whole huge gala opening store party here in NYC, but I don't think it had the desired effect.

I don't think they are special enough - They don't really have their own identity

At the prices they are I would have though people would just buy Hermes?

As British brands go I prefer Mulberry, although they are not as luxurious at least there is something different about their style

asprey bags are nice but freaking expensive!

and this is off topic, but keira knightley looks wonderful in the asprey ads.

I really like them, the leather is second to none in my view....but I agree. . . . . v v v vexpensive

(bump!)

WOW. I am looking at an Asprey alligator wallet in a beautiful chocolate brown color in my January issue of Bazaar... $2,600 and GORGEOUS.

i think i am more of a fan or kiera as their model than the bags themselves...nice, but too exspensive.

I really like Asprey, but they are fairly unknown in the states. Oddly enough, Ive seen some of those bags on the streets in NYC, namely the steamer stripe bag, and I was like "Is that Hermes?"

That first shopper is...Heaven...

The look is very Hermes though, not different enough.

I actually prefer their small leather goods to Hermes'. Their french wallet is much more practical than the Hemes Bearne because it has a snap closure instead of the Hermes 'H' buckle. I would love one in their signature purple croc, which is way cuter than the signature Hermes orange. I think the leathers of the two companies are comparable in quality - the only difference is the status that Hermes affords here in the states ;) .

First, they are not marketed wideworld.
Second, they do not have a distinctive character, nobody would say "oh, that is an Asprey" as it happens with other makes, like Bottega Veneta.
Third, very expensive.
Fourth, not "trendy".

The steamer bags do remind me very much of Hermes though..what's the ballpark figure for one?
