my friend showed me this site and i really like her stuff...it's sort of part of the new creepy and surreal genre i'm seeing more of lately.... they kind of remind me of big eyes, but without the big eyes..and some are a bit erotic. i also see a bit of mark ryden in these, but from a girl's perspective.

from her site:

Wow...it's like a less perverse, cuter take on Schiele. Very pretty! Thanks Francesca for the info!

interesting, thanks .francesca!
i almost think she copied and altered some art nouveau pieces by mucha etc?
the compositions look so very familiar...

susie, i totally agree about the cuter take on schiele...the edges softer, the lines more refined...and estella, it's very art nouveau...and if she didn't copy, she definitely appropriated! but i also see some beardsley as well.

here are some images from a life size self-portrait project:

I think Canada would not accept these  It would be censored

Anyway the ones in pastel, beautiful!

I see a little Klimt and some Egon Sheile (sp?) in her work. But more cute and playful.

some of these are quite beautiful... this work reminds me of some done by one of our own members... muxu i believe

i like the droopy-lidded expressions on the faces

I can definetily see Schiele and Mucha in these. Still, good work. Maybe a little bit repetitive.

i love that you can still see the lined wood underneath the paint..
the undulations make it seem as though the images are underwater or enveloped in smoke.. i really like the effect ^_^

I agree w/ what everyone said about Schiele. Her stuff is nice but it isnt my thing. I dont like her faces...

Agree about MUXU and it's lovely work in general by the artist. Thanks for posting :)

I understand what Masquerade says...I do like her work, but it is highly stylized. Either it speaks to you or not. I understand but also feel there is room for all. So it's cool to discover these gems.
