Audrey Tautou

He just needs to move on! Audrey didn't mean anything by it.
It seems like he always has to have a crude comment to make
about nothing and turn it into something vile.

I'm really REALLY surprised that Lagerfeld does not like Audrey. I suspected that was the reason for her no-show at the show.

Still, Audrey is the quintessential French women/actress, IMO. I thought she was the perfect choice for the face of Chanel No. 5. She screams Chanel to me.

I adore Karl, but his temper seems to be worse than mine an that's quite the accomplishment. How can you go from supporting someone as the face of your designs to hating them in 5 min? Sometimes I think he takes things too personally or pretends to to add to his persona

Damn him... I was excited to see her at the show & if hes the reason that sucks.

^^ Well, Karl has a little bit of a point here...If you're getting paid big bucks to be the face of a brand, don't casually mention that you almost never bother to wear it...Pretty rude, no?

but audrey never say that - she wears chanel many times at the events , even before the movie and ad. She just admit that daily she rather wear something casual and all , rainboots were just an example. for me it's ok - i don't think she shuld wear her chanel couture gown just to go for some milk and cat food in grocery.

i find this surprising.. surely when you sign a contract to be the face of a brand there are guidelines on how both parties are required to behave.. and i would be surprised if somewhere in there it demanded that audrey pretend that she wears chanel in every waking moment.. it's not as though she remarked 'yuck!, chanel, never!'..

i also find it incredibly unprofessional of karl, and the sad part is that it just reflects poorly on him and chanel as a company and a brand.. i don't think audrey will suffer, her response seems perfectly normal to me. it looks terrible that a company would speak badly about the woman that currently represents them.. i would be embarassed if i were him. as for audrey, i hope she takes it with a grain of salt and continues to be her charming self. she doesn't strike me as someone who would ever say something like that to knowingly hurt another person or business.. and i think she did a lovely job for chanel

frankly i wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing was a mix up.. it just doesn't seem likely that someone would say those sorts of things about an actress who is the face of your perfume.. but perhaps i underestimate karl.. i don't know anything about him..

Shes the face of the perfume & not the clothing right? & like someone said she didnt say she never wore them... in face she said that she just wore the boots that day & I think its really hilarious that he didnt know they made rain boots.

I was thinking the same thing. How the hell did he not know that they made rain boots? Unless I'm missing something here.

I dont care how much of a "genius" people say Karl is, he is plain rude. Talent does not excuse douche-baggery.

Anyway, I saw Priceless the other day and I loved it ^_^ I love the little black dress she wore at the end of the film.

I find it good that Audrey is doing her own choices and wearing what she likes instead of being stuck with all Chanel items.
Of course it is a matter of taste but I think that today Chanel clothing and accessory line is so overrated, of course there are few beautiful pieces, but must of them are totally overpriced and overrated and you pay mostly for Chanel name. And I don't talk about Coco Chanel era since then were different times and Coco was true genius IMO, but today are so many new great fashion brands and choices.

This second actress (I don't remember her name) who also played in Chanel movie this year and did Chanel adds - for example she constantly wears Chanel and I can't say she looks that well dressed, IMO Audrey's outfits are so much better.

And Penelope Cruz for Chanel ?
I don't think I ever saw her wearing something that made me to focus my look on it.

^You're thinking of Anna Mouglalis? And I agree---although I like her, I very much prefer Audrey and Keira Knightley as representatives of the Chanel brand---classy and lively and sophistocated but very accessible. I'm still as obsessed with Audrey's ad as I was when it first came out.

^^ Yes, it's her! And I like her too (Anna M.) , I have seen her in 2 movies so far and I was totally "enchanted" by her performances, and then I was so disappointed when I saw how she looks in candid pictures in her personal style ( in Chanel mostly ....)
And I also have nothing against Penelope Cruz, she is a very good actress, I just don't find her interesting as a model.

Have just read a little interview with her in Grazia - she seemed very complimentary about Chanel clothing, and endearingly so about Chanel herself. I would love her to have the cover of InStyle or Glamour or something...

I can't wait to see this film!

I just loved this look on Audrey:

The film is out today here in the UK. I think I might see it today or sometime during the weekend. I can't wait!

Almásy;5920200 As far as Chanel couturier said:
This did not sit well with Lagerfeld, who subsequently joked, "I didn't even know we made rain boots. After that, I don't have to be nice."[/B] He then added that he would have preferred Penelope Cruz represent the fashion house. Ooh, that's tantamount to getting a fingerless glove slap to the face.

Don't believe this story - it isn't true! Chanel DOES make rain boots and I would assume Lagerfeld would know that.
