“Ava Gardner had beautiful eyes and she knew exactly how to make the best of them with a perfect combination of eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil and mascara.

“To recreate this look, begin by setting your foundation and base. Try Hypersmooth foundation to create a flawless complexion. Then add a little highlighter, such as Shimmer Panstik, to the cheekbones and brow bones and blend well for a subtle radiance.

“For screen goddess eyes, it’s best to stick to more mysterious tones,” says Morag. “Try a darker eye shadow in the eye socket and lightly sweep Almond across the eyelids to open up and highlight the eyes. Next define your eyes by lining them with Colour Perfection Eyeliner in Black.”

Gardner had naturally arched eyebrows, even though latter day movie queens favour stronger brows. Morag recommends that you, “start by getting the brow shape as tidy as it can possibly be - and not plucked into a thin line, you need a fairly strong brow line. Fill brows in using whatever method works best for you – pencil or eyeshadow. I find Max Factor Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel or Earth Spirits in Angel Eyes work well for this look. Make brows as defined as you are comfortable with.”

Follow with a coat of new Max Factor Lash Lift mascara. By lifting the lashes away from the eyes and up towards the brow bone, Lash Lift instantly transforms the look of your eyes so that they appear larger and more vibrant - fantastic for achieving that bright eyed, siren look with minimum effort.”

Finish the look with kissable lips: try Lipfinity Reflections in Fiery, a flaming red shade which shimmers for a luscious finish, but is not overly ‘glitzy’.”
