I think this has been mentioned before: Demna confuses irony with intelligence. The precision, the technique are there. But it's all theatre/Instagram, no soul. He relies on concepts, but the concepts are sometimes... well, provincial.

It’s weird but I don’t expect his Gucci to be much different to this. Matter of fact, I expect this minus the oversized silhouettes. Maybe less rigid in the allure but that’s all.

Those tremors remind me of the effects of methamphetamine. And knowing Demna and his "peculiar inspiration taken from the streets", I thank God this is the last chapter in this story.

It’s Parkinson’s disease. I don’t think people care that much anymore, but Demna’s one of the most proactive designers of his generation when it comes to runway inclusivity after being called out for having an all white model cast in his debut collection and imo to his benefit I don’t think Balenciaga would be the cultural force it was if he had just the done the industry standard “here damn” approach of sprinkling in whichever minority model is already trending as a response.

I'm so tired of him to even enjoy that (decent) show let alone wait for Gucci and experience Demna 2.0 turbocharged with Tom Ford's kinks and obsessions buried deep into archives...

The collection was interesting with some silhouettes particularly appealing to me: first 4-5, then 10th and few others. Menswear was one big let down which is a shame because few HC ago he could make very luxurious looking, exquisitely tailored tuxedo but I guess here it was second thought.

Curious whether PPP will limit his OPERA DRAMA fetish in HC and push for more Christobal's architecture approach...

none of the womenswear did anything for me, but i really enjoyed the approach to tailoring here.

I do not hate them. I kinda like the boxy silhouettes on some of them, I think it just boils down to styling issues/model choices/how the clients chooses to style them (with regards to the sold pieces seen on the guests)

But yes, it’s time for us to move on to something else…

He used the same concept for the Prefall 2021 show (models photoshopped into famous monuments landscapes)...kinda passè and "been there done that"...

Hearing Demna talk post show is like hearing an art student that parties late and did not do much for the assignment but knows how to make it sound more conceptual and deep with not much to show for it.

but this 10 years of demna balenciaga i reluctantly take over the new margiela diesel pop era we will have now any day.
