His Balenciaga is becoming so predictable now. A New York show, at the stock exchange, adding "irony" with the Adidas collaboration, with the models wearing gimp/fetish masks for that slight American Psycho feel (because the references weren't predictable enough). In a way it's becoming similar to Juergen Teller: all the tropes of "challenging the system" but is is it really that provocative when it is this predictable?
There are some great tailored pieces in that first half of the collection. Unfortunately, it is something we have seen before almost exactly. Or at least try to see, because their shows as of late have had the most annoying lighting/production tricks that detracts focus on the actual clothes.
