^ Shoefly is the online store for a shoe store here in Seattle. They are pretty reputable. I've shopped the brick and mortar and the online store, both, without problems.

If you sign up for emails, they sometimes notify you of sales where everything is 20% off, etc.

Also, you can try lagarconne.com. They had this perfectly delectable style, but it was sold out before they were even available!

And sometimes freepeople.com offers Repetto.

^ That shoe IS delectable! Thanks, crankypants!

i just got my purple satin Lanvin flats today!! I'm so excited!! I want another pair..damn that chick on ebay!!

La Garconne has a habit of marking a good number of their merchandise above retail. Shoefly is very reasonable & their customer service is excellent.

I just ordered a black pair of these from french sole, it's a new style called Harriet. Can't wait until they get here.

What are all the Lanvin colors that they made? Satin, Leather and Patent...

Thanks!

I ordered two pair (one black and the othe leopard) from a company called London Sole... They have a website similar to French Sole. Are they the same people?

Yes, they are the same people. I think it goes like this: French Sole was the original company, but when they expanded to the US, there was already a company by that name, so the US branch is called London Sole. Something like that. ^_^

Lucky you !, you'll probably get yours before I get mine. Although I live in the US it's usually a bit cheaper to order from the UK and pay the occasional import duties (it does not get applied that often).

What style did you get ?, I ordered the Harriet since you cannot get it in the US right now and the vamp is cut very low. I have short toes so it's hard to get any kind of toe cleavage look going.

It rather depends of the style, sometimes you would save nothing, other times you can save a lot.

In my case I ordered a style that is not yet available in the US. The closest style that is available from londonsole.com is Harriet, these are listed at $185.00 in plain leather, these cost 65.00GBP from frenchsole.com. If I had ordered those then this is what would happen.

Shipping from frenchsole.com in the UK is 12.00GBP, shipping from londonsole.com in the US is probably around $10.00. Since I live in California (and London Sole is in CA to) then sales tax would be around 8.00%.

Credit card companies typically charge for currency conversion, usually 3%-4%, 65.00GBP = $120.00 so there will be an additional cost of around $4.00.

The total for londonsole.com would be $185.00 + $10.00 + $14.80 = $209.20

The total for frenchsole.com would be $120.00 + $22.00 + $4.00 = $146.00

If import duties had to be paid then this would normally be 10% (sometimes they get it wrong and try and charge more, you can appeal the charge). The total declared value is $142.00, this is below the $150.00 exemption amount for non commercial personal goods.

Worst case you’d have to add $14.20 import duties, so the grand total for frenchsole.com could be $160.20.

For other styles it’s different, londonsole.com plain leather pirouette $145.00, frenchsole.com 65.00GBP, londonsole.com = $166.60, frenchsole.com = (worst case) $160.20.

Buying from the UK pretty much removes the chance of returns since you have to pay the shipping, so you’ve got to know your size in the style you want.

I only buy from the UK if I can save more than $30.00.
