Over the last couple years I have gone through several inexpensive pairs of ballet flats. Right now I have some really pretty much perfect cheap Target flats, but they are not leather and my feet sweat in them - not comfortable in the summer (I just hate faux leather anyway). I just want some plain - PLAIN - black leather flats, but the cheapest I've found that fit the bill are the French Soles. (I don't want the ones with the elastic, the ones that fold in half, like at Urban. I bought some exactly like them at J. Crew last winter and the elastic hurt my ankles!) I can't believe what a long ongoing battle this search has been!
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I just order the ones from French Sole... I'm sure they would be worth the $$ and last...
Okay here's a pic of the French Sole pair I want. £45 at French Sole and $135 at London Sole. Am I just confusing currencies or something? Those numbers don't convert to the same price, right?!
Lady Muck said:The price difference is because of import duty and taxes into the USA, because French Soles shoes are made in Spain and Italy. That and the weak dollar /strong euro has really affected prices for the worse. I'm forever reading about USA footwear buyers bemoaning the fact.
French Sole and London sole are the same company. Someone registered the French Sole name in the USA so they can't use their own name over there.

buut i really have my heart set on REPETTOS, the lace-up style. anyone know where i can find them online or in nyc?
I have a pair like those. Great, comfy and I feel like a million dollars each time I wear them. Who needs heels in the summer(Actually I do, but these make me feel so great)they are not plain, they are exciting.carshoe said:I know you can't consider them like "ballets flasts", but I think you all have a look to these ...
