Ballet flats

I have never in my life considered using heels to make myself taller. I really like heels, but it´s impossible to walk in them where i live.
The street is made in stone and i would probably fall all the time if i wore heels.

Besides, i like to walk and feel confortable in what i wear, so i would never wear heels if they didn´t fit my lifstyle, so i simply don´t.

Flats are beautiful and i love them, so they have became a must in my closet. ;)

These are from swell.com and are by Hurley. They're cute in the picture but in real life, the ribbon tie is NOT silky and is some kind of grosgain. They are also extremely flimsy and rough on the inside. The orginal price was $45 but I got them for $20. :/ I guess they are STILL cute but definitely not worth $20 and for sure not $45. Does anyone else know of any other good quality ballet flats with ballet style ribbon ties?

repetto does some really nice ballet slippers with ties. only problem is they are hard to find! i saw a pair in some magazine last year and fell in love but was never able to locate them. i think there is some japanese website that carries them too, although i don't remember the link.

lemeray, i prefer my flats plain too.. that's why french sole and delman are my favorites. lanvin too, if i could afford it!

Doesn't repetto sell at Nordstrom?, I was going to buy black ones just like angel's...

Here comes a silly question - do the ties on most of these flats come untied throughout the day? (this is a pet peeve of mine)

mine usually don't come untied, but they tend to slip down so in effect, yes they do need to be retied intermittently.

Ballet flats have been popular so long, don't you folks think they'll be on their way "out" soon?

i recently bought my pair of flats..about freakin time too! anyways, their black, leather, and have the cutest bow on them...and the best part is I got them at Gap. they're soooo comfortable and at a reasonable sales price:D so i'm happy!
exaclty like these, but black

Anthropologie.com also has an amazing array of gorgeous ballet flats  :

I agree Anthropologie has some of the most beautiful flats! Alot of them are by Delman or Lulu

even if they are out, I will still wear them, because I love them so much

^ weeell... it's hard to predict fashion trends, but remember that ballet flats have been in wear for a long long time.. remember Audrey Hepburn?
I'll keep wearing them too, because i think they are comfortable, classic, cute and chic (hey - all c's!)
