Are the Lanvin flats as comfortable to wear as the rumors say they are?

I practically live in flats and the only way I could justify buying another pair would be if they are the most comfortable flats ever. The only thing I'm iffy about is the elastic band in the back (esp. on the patent ones), because I've tried lots of pairs with the same thing (example: a few from Dior) and they were too hard and too tight and I just know that I won't be able to wear them that long before they start to hurt my foot. I hope that's not the case with the Lanvins? And do you think or know if they'll only last for one season regarding the wear and tear? (I guess that depends on how much you wear them too, but yeah.. Generally speaking.)

Soooo? Any thoughts? :innocent:

vista,

no, they are not the most comfu spacially the satin and patent. at least from my experience.
now my advice would be to go for the Lanvin ballet flats that are NOT elasticated. they have a beautiful form and are super comfy!

my patent ones are actually the most comfortable ones, they hurt me much less (meaning they only hurt in the back if I'd had them on for many, many hours) than the leather pairs.

i had a few pairs of elastic flats. and I still love the look but not the wear. after a few hours it kills my feet, and the indentation in my heel doesn't go away for hourd/days. I tried on different sizes, but if the elastic fits fine the shoe is way too big.

Yep, wearing elasticated flats immediately takes me back to the times of my ballet classes. :(

Thanks for all the replies! :flower:

I usually work 7-8 hours a day and that means standing up for all of them. That's why I wanted to know if I would be able to wear them the whole day. I guess you'll always be tired after a day of work but I've heard a lot of people saying that the Lanvin flats are the most comfortable flats in the world and that's why they're worth the price etc. Now I'm not sure. I'll def. end up with a pair though and I'll try to stear away from the ones that are the most elasticated.

Btw - How is the sole?

(The reason why I'm asking all these questions is that I'll have to either order the flats online or travel to get them.)

I do still think they are the most comfortable flats in the world, it's just that even the most comfortable still have some negatives.

HOWEVER, if you're going to be standing for 7-8 hours a day, I don't think these are the shoes for you. They don't have enough support for that much standing, you need a shoe that is more molded, with more arch support.

At the moment I practically live in flats and they're both cheap ones (from Topshop £25) and more expensive ones (Chanel Cambon). I can wear them for the whole day without feeling too much pain. (Not more than a normal day of work would cause no matter what shoes I have on.) So in comparison to what I'm used to I was thinking that maybe these were more comfy (even though they're not perfect!) than most. But I guess there will be different opinions on this since we all have different needs and feet. ^_^

Exactly what I was going to say. I recently heard a podiatrist (I think) being interviewed about shoes. There was some discussion of heels, but I was surprised to hear so much about ballet flats being bad for your feet because of the lack of support (and I believe the emphasis was on lack of support at the sides). I'm not sure lack of pain necessary equals good for your feet ...

I love flats, and I'm always on the search for new comfy ones. However I really don't want to be spending more than I have to for flats.

Does anyone know anything about these flats or do you know where I could find a purple velvet or suede ballet flat in a US 5 or smaller or even kids sizes would be good? Pic from justjared.com

these are the most comfy style of Lanvin IMHO, the sole is padded under the heels.

aris,

those are the Lanvins i was talking about. they do them every season and they are much much more comfy than the elastic ones :)

But the non elasticated ones that i found are always in boring colours!!:(...like the olive or dark brown!
