Balmain Haute Couture F/W 2020.21 Paris

Update: The photos are back up on Vogue Runway and edited. :P:P:P

They’ve edited out a couple less-distracting threads in Look 16 & 17 as well. There’s also a new photo of Yseult at the very end.

Pretty sure it was someone from Balmain who edited the photos and requested that Vogue reupload them, but either way, gotta love the silent influence of this forum.

Omg, La Kardashian, get it together!
Love how eagle-eyed tFSers never quite lose their spark. I'm sure Lola is not particularly pleased that she had to be the first one to point out the cheapness of Olivier's Balmain, lol.

Even before I got to the messiness I groaned at the sight of this collection. It just looks so rushed and without much of a message. Could easily have been part of Resort, in fact Resort with that terry check and Gingham motifs set way more of a tone than this.

This lockdown has given designers an added advantage to really tell a story with their collections, either through photography or film. Especially for the type of designer who pretty much churns out the same look without much variation season after season. Maria and Iris really jumped on that and it paid off for them. That Olivier and Valli for instance failed is a mystery to me.

Ahahahaha! Yes, I’m not particularly pleased to point out the cheapness of his work but at the same time, I’ve been used to point out that cheapness... LOL.

The last time I liked a Balmain collection was in 2013...

That being said, he is still a very fun and kind guy. He is still talented even if his taste/aesthetic is somehow puzzling.
