Any thoughts on the new line of handbags by Banana Republic.

The Kempton pocket shoulder is cute - liking the Vachetta Brown color -matching wallets too !

yes, it's cute and I could see myself using it. Any idea on the price and if it is avaliable online?

I went ahead and placed my order for the kempton pocket shoulder bag: it's 15" x 15" and if it's the same kind of leather they used on their other bloomsbury bags, then it's super soft and pretty light. I also got to use a 20% code w/ free shipping: BRHOL2 (min. purchase $200). So it was a great deal!

Yup, a nice clean design and not such an expensive bag that I have to worry about it in winter weather. Exactly what I was looking for, for schlepping around in the messy, rainy, snowy days to come. :flower:

Eeeeehmmm... not a fan, I hate to say.

What color did you get it in?

I really like the Tangier hobo! It reminds me of Juicy Couture's hobo and BV. I like the long tassel. Tempting to buy......

I like the Kempton pocket shoulder bag! I went to BR yesteray and they still had Bloomsburry bags so I am tempted now :) I also have 20% Macy's coupon that is valid for handbags as well and I like some Michael Kors bags...tough decision

vachetta brown: I already have a dark brown bag and was thinking of getting a tan colored bag recently. So this fit the bill perfectly. :D I'll take pics once I get it.

hmmmmmmmm....very simple, nothing special:blink: .....i wonder on their mearements, because i know with the bloomsbury they were totally off....i ended up getting rid of my bloomsbury tote.....something about the way the top was cut when you carryed it was off..........i dont know if i'd buy another bag from them. dont get me wrong, the leather is SO soft and to die for, but their shapes and the practicality factor somehow didn't click....:o

^^ Ya.. one of the measurements says 15 X 15.. but i dunno how they got that unless they included the length of the bag X the height of the bag including the handle drop...

weird.

/\ it was the same thing with the bloomsbury...they flattened the whole bag out and included the squished sides and bottom when the gave their width and height and then gave like a depth measurement like 4 inches different than what it measured seam to seam. i had people thinking i was selling a fake because i took the time to measure my bag while all the other auctions just used the measurements given on the web site. so anyone purchasing from them would do best to go to a store and check out the bag IRL before buying one, i think....

Cool -thanks -can't wait to see it.
Thinking of getting it too & the Tangier continental wallet but I'm curious to see what other think of the leather first..

very marc jacobsy. cute. I see the bloomsbury everywhere.

Yes... VERY MJ... it reminds me of that shoulder bag with the pom poms..

I couldn't find a pic of the MJ that it resembles most... but it was kinda like this one:

So I got my Kempton pocket shoulder bag a few days ago. The leather is not as soft as the Bloomsbury line, but still pretty high quality given the price. The Vachetta brown is a lot lighter IRL than in the pic on the BR website, so I may have my leather craftsman darken it a little with a waterproofing/conditioning treatment (if I decide to keep it). I like the fact that it has handy pockets, and the braided detail on the shoulder strape is very nice. Plus, it was only $150 (with my coupon) so I can use it in winter weather and not worry about getting it wet.
