Best collections of all time

That’s super interesting cause I don’t feel that way at all… I think artistic expression already peaked. I believe the Internet and the industry are so developed at the moment that there’s basically no room for greatness.

I see designers posting 73736363 times a day and I’m like 🤨🤨🤨 shouldn’t you be in the studio designing? What level of dedication can you have when you spend your life on Instagram? Liking all the silly influencers posts, I saw that even boring not com got a like  he’s a little bit better than the rest but still.
you have a point i dont disagree with the lack of quality we have now.
but i am hopeful that there will be a counter reaction to every bad period something good will come out.
but you see it even on here online in general that wanting things to be better and researching and dissecting is an inconvenience people want to believe in something even when its not there.

i dont read those fashion post its incomplete news often i prefer always interviews where designers or whoever is speaking directly.
i find it more helpful to understand mind set versus output.

every time i see on my for you page a show review i block the account lol .

I wish though, but I’m kinda pessimistic tbh.

Yeah, it’sa reality that some people have less standards than others. That’s why I was focusing more on the “haters” (which I am). I’m curious about what Jeanclaude thinks for instance.

I also believe very few people really know about fashion and I dislike the reviews when the person talking acts like a consumer. Like… I would wear that and that… it’s a take I can’t stand.

I feel like that when I see a Hedi Slinane show (I want everything) but I can separate the wish to own something from the quality a collection has as a fashion statement or just as a fashion moment.

A designer needs to create products that you want to wear and that make you feel something, but a fashion show for me is different. They must aim to achieve something aesthetically meaningful as a whole.

Balenciaga SS 2005, FW 2005, SS 2006, FW 2006, FW 2007
Vuitton FW2004, FW2006, SS 2007, SS2009 - MJ collections during the same period were superb as well. I like how he approached his own brand and Vuitton's on a dual track - similar vision but different focus.
Alexander McQueen SS 1999, SS2005, FW2006

I would like to add Karl's Chanel Metiers d'art show in 2018. Even the sailor inspired looks are very feminine. It was a sentimental show...there were also many pieces with exquisite details that really put the modern day Metiers collections in shame.

This moment will live in my head rent free for the rest of my life, even after 25 years... and I'm still waiting for the HD version.
