Best Digital Camera

I have the Canon Powershot SD630 and I absolutely love it! I will probably never buy anything other than Canon, as I have had very good luck with them. I've used the Sony Cybershot and Nikon coolpix and prefer mine by far (and I think it was $50-$100 cheaper than the others!) My mom bought mine for like $250, but that was like a year ago, so if you can still get this model I would assume it is cheaper.

I have the Canon 350D (Digital Rebel XT), I love it, it's easy to use and I haven't had any problems. I haven't used Nikon so I can't say. I dunno about Canon/Nikon producing "different colors", as it all depends on a) the lensesyou use b) the skill of the photographer and c) post-processing.

My flickr is listed in my profile, I use the 350D and a 50mm f/1.4 lens.

Good luck with the camera search! DSLR's are so much fun to use.

The day I buy an SLR, I will go for the Leicas for sure. A proper hardwearing German brand. And yes, yes the looks are to die for.

BUT I think I am going to order a Canon Powershot G9 which is the new model in the G range of hyprids. See I don't want the bulk of an SLR because I have several film cameras and the larger they were, the less I used them. There is a huge lensed behemoth that never got touched. But again I don't just want a point and shoot because i want to be able to play with the lens and the flashes in preparation for my dream of one day doing Fine Art at the Slade. So a hybrid is attractive and the G9 is probably the best of them. Of course you will lose the creaminess of the SLRs though...

Anyone else use a hybrid?

Here's an idea: everyone post what digital camera they use, general info (price/what they use it for), write a review (the pros/cons), and attach some pictures you've took with the camera. It would be more helpful.

Kodak EasyShare C613 Zoom paid $99 at Wal-Mart the other day. I like it pretty well, no complaints yet. It is very easy to use, and figure out. It doesn't have a view finder though, so you have to use the preview screen, which means if it is dark you can't see anything.

I bought the Canon EOS 400D with 18 - 55 mm lens (Digital Rebel XTi) over the weekend and it is incredible. Very user friendly and the quality of the photographs you take is fantastic.

i had a sony t100 up until i lost it while out in london one night... that had a really strong flash but it was quite slow. i've since replaced it with a leica... still getting used to it.
