We're madly in love and completely stunned. We saw something unusual in this Illinois-kid when first testing results from New York surfaced on the web. You know, we receive dozens of proposals for features every week, perfectly beautiful girls, but something I can't put my finger on kept us thinking of this Blake girl - So we decided to ask her agent for some natural shots and were more than grateful to receive freshly-taken snaps from London via Next Models.
As I remember having read an interesting entry called "Fresh. Not fierce." on the blog of Mother Mgmt, I had to rummage around to find it again cause the basic statement of this piece is applicable to our feeling towards Blake's presence. I mean, after 2yrs featuring those new girls non-stop, you easily find out who of them deceives herself and who not. There's the girl trying to look fierce & expressive, there's the girl getting herself into tomboyish apparel & hair styles trusting it will add "recall value" to her looks and so on.
What remains is a couple of true diamonds - Those who radiate energetic spirits and can call something like a fascinating "allure" their own. Those who don't need major makeovers in order to look polished - Aren't those polaroids a proof that Blake possesses all those ingredients stated in the last two sentences? We think so. Lil' Blake's potential goes beyond her lean silhouette and perfect skin, she's authentic and real. And this magical allure will surely have a positive impact on her booking charts anytime soon.
