Blugirl RTW Fall 2014
February 20, 2014
Anna Molinari can’t seem to shake her fascination with the Swinging Sixties. While her spring collection for Blugirl was inspired by the wholesome Julie Christie, her fall lineup paid homage to bad girls Marianne Faithfull and Anita Pallenberg.
Their rock-chick cool was exemplified by trouser suits that paired elongated double-breasted jackets with flared pants. Nodding to Ossie Clark, they were shown in either cream wool or black velvet with fine gold Lurex stripes. Other Carnaby Street moments included Biba-style paisley print dresses and an Op Art fur coat worked in bold black-and-white stripes.
Molinari diluted her message with a group of generic baby doll dresses in pastel shades, but balanced her rebel vs. good girl instincts with a gold lace-trimmed minidress worn under a leopard-skin cape with thick fur trim.
