Blumarine S/S 2011 : Edita Vilkeviciute & Magdalena Frackowiak by Terry Richardson

THANK GOD!
A new setting, finally!
The old concept was so boring.

i love it..i'm ashamed to but i really do. blumarine is one of my favourites :)

That'd be one of the few times I actually appreciate Blumarine ads, Edita & Magda are a really fabulous duo

Ah, so the Blumarine girl is a skank now? Terry Richardson is like a brand-killer. Whenever he shoots a campaign for any brand, the brand's respectability goes south.

I actually like it. Terry goes a little overboard on some ads but these seem pretty tame.

I don't like the picture of Magdalena on the couch, but overall it was a good move on their part to embrace the sluttiness of the collection. I like the 1970s lounge / rec room vibe but I would have preferred that they showcased some of the other hideous clothes in the collection, as opposed to the hideous ones I have seen thus far. I liked the shoes and accessories from last season's campaign much more, and as bad as last season was I kinda miss Maryna's legs. Anyhoo, in spite of the hideousness and sluttiness or perhaps because of it, I want to see more.

Tom Ford is classy? The guy who carved the Gucci logo in pubic hair and likes to place perfume bottles in crotches is classy? Tom Ford and Terry Richardson are running buddies and birds of a feather, when it comes to their aesthetics, the major difference is that Tom gets more goodwill because he comes wrapped in a prettier package. :yuk: @ me halfway defending TR.

Oh it hardly needs to be said that Tom's sexiness can sometimes turn onto the vulgar side, but up to this point I think it's a completely opinion-based argument. And Tom's sexiness is much more glamorous, while Richardson's "sexiness" is just....p*rn*gr*ph*c. I don't think a Tom Ford campaign would ever look as cheap as this campaign. But I do agree that Tom comes "wrapped in a prettier package", but it's perhaps that very point why the 2 are not always synonymous to people.

some effort please, Terry?

the whole set reminds me of two girls waiting for someone after a party so they decide to whip out their phones and take pictures of themselves in the sluttiest way possible (well most girls who go to parties dressed like that are kind of one anyway). I think I got what the brand wanted to show but Terry who obviously got the green light on everything just blew me away with these shots (and no, not in a good way!) and made my eyeballs do a thousand backflips. On top of that, the clothes look hideous.

I wonder why I got so worked up on these. Well, whatever sells for Blumarine.

Excluding the shot of Edita with the brown leather jacket this is a bit too vulgar for my taste.

Finally no blank studio shots this season. But this is still tacky in my opinion, though both models look good.

Pricey night ladies at the Boom Boom Room. I kind of dig it but at the same time all I can think is ... Really, Terry?

An incredibly beautiful and skilled pair of models deserves much much more than this. Still, I'm happy they got this, if only Terry Richardson hadn't shot it. The lighting, the poses, everything screams cheap and skanky.

I dont really like this campaign, it looks like a trashy ed instead of a campaign. I like the choice of models though.

It's too sl*tty IMO. There's a fine line between playfully trashy and just a ho; and Magda's open legs shot is definitely ho-like. I love both girls, but Terry really effs things up sometimes.

although, i have never liked the campaigns with a sofa (please take note Ms. moss), this really works!. hair, makeup and poses make this very sexy and chic:brows:
however, there is something cheap about it...perhaps the light and place:doh:...Overall I like it!

No, it's the photographer! :innocent:

anyway, good to see magda in ads.

extremely cheap...i hate Magdalen's pose, like the cover of po*n.
