i wish i could see this:heart:
The exclusive boutique of UK designer Alexander McQueen on the fashionista’s haven Via Verri provided the backdrop for “Carousel”, interior pieces by Tord Boontje.

The collaboration explored the relationship between fashion and furniture and their influence over one another, inspired by McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2005 collection.
Boontje said: “Fashion has always been a great inspiration for my work. I like the closeness to the individual, the use of materials, colours and textures to express personality. For me it seems a real breakthrough to make wearable chairs as a true cross-over between furniture and fashion.”
The main window revealed a group of Moroso chairs, the “Doll Chairs”, covered with custom made haut couture covers by McQueen.

“I find it interesting to see how my original design idea can be executed in a very different format. My designs all centre around proportion, so to see that re-worked is a fascinating process,” said McQueen.

if anyone has better pictures, please post:flower:

The neighbouring window display housed the light-catching and eye-catching Blossom Chandelier, a creation from Boontje alongside Swarovski, with crystals in yellow and green throwing coloured light.

yes, they are, thank you.
(the you who can buy there must be quite wealthy:lol:)

Ooooh....I love the chandelier and the Swarovski trees!

And will this all bear the collaborative name of McQueen?

the lamps are being sold under tord boontje's name without mention of mcqueen. luckily, mcqueen is famous in his own right :P

boontje also collaborated on a christmas tree w/ mcqueen
http://www.showstudio.com/projects/ctr/ctr_info.html

and supposedly collaborated on sunglasses? boontje used to have a website, but now it's mysteriously disappeared...

Oh yes,I remember the X-mas tree now! But you're right and McQueen is selling the pieces at his shop,no?

hm, that i don't know. there is no mention of boontje on his website either, unless i missed it.

now i'm not sure these are the chairs he collaborated on w/ mcqueen, but it gives you an idea of his aesthetic. he does indeed have a way w/ fabric and tensile materials.

it is described as having a 'dress' cover...

i think they only did work together on the chairs, the rest is boontje's work alone. the chairs are similar to the ones you posted, travolta. they are wearing dresses. only they are more boudoir and wear corsets:lol:
the mcqueen influence i'd say.
i remember to have read of the sunglasses.
thanks for pictures and link!

 That red chair somehow reminds me of a moss covered tree...which oddly enough is the name of the website you got those,Travolta^_^
