A juggernaut brand like Hugo Boss probably doesn't need a show like this to sell, as their market share is in the middle-tier market, for which this is a well-balanced vision of sellable tailoring and outerwear. These clothes will not alienate department store customers, even though slowly that clientele will die out and they should think of how to keep up with a more informed customer who already shops at more inspired places than Hugo Boss.
That thought makes me think a collection like the one Lucas Ossendrijver designed for Theory would have made more sense at Hugo Boss with a price point lower than what they are selling it for right now - While the clothes he designed are good, I doubt that either his own name or that of Theory will generate the pull for it to sell like hot cake, as the prices are still too high to offer a confident alternative to most luxury goods / contemporary fashion brands. Hugo Boss would have the infrastructure to realize the same quality and market it at a lower pricepoint if desired.
