bottega Veneta uomo s/s 06

Thanks, oSteliios. I actually quite like it; there's nothing "interesting" here per se, but it's an effortless, luxurious collection. The stripes and colorblocking are quite pleasant...reminds me a bit of Dries van Noten...or maybe an Italian version of Comme des Garçons Shirt...

actually i like this apart from the knit 'cardigans' with red trousers look which is going a bit too far and the horrid jeans
fave look very first pic with stripped shirt and messenger bag plus the three colour lace shoes, the red swede mocasins are also cute

thanks for posting Stelios

oh god no- those stripes!- too much colour. i'm very disappointed with the ready to wear especially after the subtlety of gold in this summers collection and the upcoming autumn that has some wonderful leather.
the accessories have been ruined by the stripes although i'm glad they are bringing back the mocs and croc sandels because they sold out this summer instantly.

I don't like it very much...too many colors put together.
I hope the quality is always the same good...and that's too far forward from Comme des Garçons Shirt...

Very J.Crew. BV always has excellent shoes and bags but thier clothes are crap. It's like the clothes are for showing off the accessories rather than vise versa.

First of, the loafers are ugghh. The white pants with black stripes are very off. Don't like the cardigans either. But for the rest, I think the suits are very fine and the more casual stuff as well! And of course the bags are great...

oh goodness....droogist I see the dries likeness but there is none of dries's subtlety. I don't like the whole 'look at me i am a rich git' look going on with this (and all the milan collections for that matter).

Maybe a bit too colourful but generally I like those clothes. I especially like belts and bags. :flower:

Aside from some of the bright sweaters...I like it all...and would gladly wear it.

I agree. It seems like there is SUCH a huge gap between their bags and clothes. The bags are gorgeous, luxurious pieces and the clothes are rather boring (a little TOO "effortless" as Droogist mentioned) . Perhaps in the details they are luxurious, but in the pictures, the outfits just look like standard jeans, jackets, and cardigans. As you said, very J. Crew, but at 10x's the price.

And the pants too, it's too much color for me!

Again, the colours pop-out at you. Nothing catches me, but the colours, and yes the shoes for men.

Wow! I became a big fan of Bottega Veneta since I saw womens Fall 2004. This is very reminescent of that. And what wouldnt I do to get my hands on those shoes!:ninja:

Me too! Fall 2004 was so great---all the bags were incredible. After I saw the pictures online I visited the New York store and the salesman showed me the silver snakeskin bag--it looked and felt incredible. He wanted me to get it and gave me his business card in case I decided to buy it. I wish!!!!

i really like this, its wearable
one of my favorites, i like the way it was presented...

reminds me of some of the recent Perry Ellis men's line pieces.

Love those tri-colored wingtips! But I imagine its cost is just a lil bit tooo outta my league..

But as for the clothes, not really feeling it...But, they're in the business mainly for leather-goods & not clothing, so for that: :flower:

Absolutely, I, too feel the ready-to-wear always takes a backseat to the leather goods.

i agree..:flower:

it does look like classic american sportswear with a european flair...
which is very much up my alley...

a polished and more sharply tailored j.crew perhaps...

thanks for the pics ostelios...

wow, i have to say i wasn't expecting to like this. i pretty much agree w/ what droogist said about the effortlessness and the color/ stripes. it's one of my favorites so far of the season. i love the shirts/sweaters that looked as if they pulled a paint brush down it -- if it was wealthier i could see myself buying one of those for some lucky guy. ;) the cardigans are really great alone, and paired w/ the pants. it all fits together really nicely :flower:

it gives me the feeling of being in burano venice w/ the quaint rainbow colored houses... (yeah maybe it's because it's the 4th of july, but i'm totally feeling all the whimsy and color in the collections:clap: !)
