I was this close to applying there last month, don't think I would've qualified anyway! .. I was quite surprised though, I would've never pegged fashion-oriented people in LA as the Bruno-lover kind!.. but it makes sense.. people like to imagine them as these tacky-dressed characters when in fact there are many areas where people dressed very nicely and appreciate lovely and simple pieces such as the ones Vanessa makes.
Plus they're so light and casual.. just perfect for the weather.
I hope I can take a quick trip there once it's opened.
Yes tbh Ive always had that image of people in LA.. So this was a nice shock to me.
I like the clothes.
You may have gotten in Lady luck may have surprised you
Who knows, I luck out in such random stuff these days .. I backed off cause I wasn't that keen on relocating (it's a couple of hours away from where I live.. by train).
Wow. Im imagining this from a Londoners point of view as even commuting by the TUBE used to irritate me. I totally get it.
Driving is even worse - the traffic has gotten SO bad.
mullet, people generalise so much about LA but the truth is there are actually pockets of the city that have very interesting people and not stalked by these trashy air-heads,i've come to realise. i had a friend there who sadly i lost touch with, her boyfriend owned one of the most exclusive indie shops in the country. it was a shop one wouldn't immediately peg for LA as it had boudicca, ccp, preen(when they were still pretty experimental, that is) et al.
i agree with you,i think vanessa's clothes are well suited for the environment there as it's just as laid-back and easy as the true los angeles.
