Bruce F/W 07.08 NYC

I'm wondering the same, lostinnj.
There's an atmosphere in the whole collection that does not remind me of a NYC show, which is a good thing in my book, I probably heard of Bruce before but I can't seem to recall anything at the moment, so, with no point of reference, this looks beautifully made and effortlessly new.

i believe it was lost. it was really around that time when alot of the indies here and in Europe were facing struggles and dropping like flies....which sounds harsh but that's basically what's been happening.

mullet,go on style.com and search their collections....it might jog your memory. they were part of that prominent group in the early milennium that included Adrover,Cianciolo,Tess Giberson,As Four etc. which everybody said was making NYC interesting again and really pushing things forward.

^^When I saw them on the schedule for the shows, the name sounded familiar. If I recall correctly Vogue did a spotlight on them a few years back, along with Androver, and the designer of Hermes at that time. It is really nice to see a re-emergence of a well praised brand though.

oh thanks scott!!, i did some research and came across some of my favorite eleonora bosé appearances on the runway.. definitely seen his work before. they'll all come back eventually, don't you think?. the post 9-11 crisis definitely took a toll on the financially weaker but i think they're already getting back on track in the best possible manner..by following a sequence of their previous work and not jumping on what's currently being done.

I love both the pieces on Ajuma, the second top especially, and I love Chanel Iman's ensemble. The wood paneling print is really nice, it's something I haven't seen that much of but maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Overall, it's quite nice.

they won a CFDA award too as Best New Designers a year after their break-out...

I went to the show. Truely truely, it was a wonderful collection. I know it is one of the best in NY already. It is NYC best kept talents. People who understand style and fashion, they will know what I am talking about.
As a big fans and good friend of Nicole and Daphane, I am so happy to see them back. When you see up close the garments, there is so much details, hand works and beautifully cut pattern. Not to mention about their sensibility, cool but quietly sexy. They are very low key and humble. Wishing them all the best. I hope they can continue to build Bruce as a successful brand as long lasting as possible. You have all my support Nicole and Daphane!

^i concur completely.

always loved their work.

It's nice to have them back. I whish the cuts were a little tighter, but over all it's a good collection.

Now if only Susan Cianciolo was back !

^actually she's doing some things at the moment. just a bit quieter than before--if one can say such a thing as she's always had a quiet presence.

what i'd like to see is a miguel adrover comeback.....in paris or london.

hm..it's ok.. i absolutely love this sweater tho
