I recently found the perfect pair of buckle boots by Steve Madden - the simple black leather one and a brown distressed leather:

Their only difference besides the distressed look on the brown ones, is that the brown has a rubber sole whereas the black has a synthetic sole.

I originally wanted the black ones but synthetic soles have much less traction than the rubber ones.

Are there any alternatives to the black pair that have the rubber sole that I am looking for? And perhaps at an affordable price? Thank you :)

Kelly, those are great! I love the black one. They are totally knock offs of fiorentini and baker though which cost like hundreds of dollars. I prefer the Steve Madden ones.

Exactly! The actual ones are at least $525 :( Thus, I turn to good ol' Steve Madden. Except I'm a little iffy about the sole traction issue. Does anyone know if synthetic is really as 'slippery' as it sounds?

^the sole is just rubber right? That's better than leather. Leather often makes it slippery. Do they run true to size?

Actually, the soles are synthetic, which isn't as great as rubber as it has less traction. But I still ended up getting a pair! Hopefully it won't be too bad.

It runs pretty true to size. I'm usually a 6.5/7 and for these Bucks, I got a 6.5. I''m a 37 (size 7 approx.) for Aldo.

If the sole ends up being an issue, you can always take the boots to a shoe repair shop and have them replace the soles. I've done that with boots before, it's usually quite cheap to do. :)
