Cédric Charlier described his resort collection as being inspired by the Polynesian pareo. “I was thinking about how to knot it and how to transform it,” he explained. The concept came across in chic, subtle ways that kept the lineup modern and relevant — for example, a yellow knit featuring a second knit knotted around the shoulder and paired with a classic pink pleated skirt.
Graphically, tropical motifs were represented more literally in printed dresses layered over pleated skirts and in pareo-print laser-cut leather embroidered into a men’s wear shirt. And because it was not just about the destination but about the journey, too, Charlier offered a light, flowy, semi-wrinkled polyester done in everything from a chic romper to a trench worn over matching palazzo pants and top.
