Calvin Klein Collection F/W 2015.16 : Grace, Maartje & Tami by Charles Atlas

Grace is absolutely the wrong girl for the campaign. She looks like a girl you'd see at a downtown club. That's not Calvin Klein Collection's aesthetic. OK for CK jeans but you need a stronger visual presence than Grace can give for the Collection line.

Grace is such a mismatch and really should not have been the one in the actual campaign. Her look is young and "cool," which works elsewhere but certainly not here. At least Tami has the sleekness that I associate more with CK. Technically this would make her the first black model to (sort of) be in the mainline campaign, right?

That Style.com write-up pretty much explains it all perfectly. Is this the first time CK went for such a distinct disparity between the women's and men's lines? I suppose it shouldnt really matter because both campaigns probably wont get featured in the same magazine. I get that they wanted to 'do things differently' but the lack of cohesion is simply off-putting when you see it all together. That's besides the clichéed effects.

That's a bummer. I saw Maartje posted her video with ck with the line: 'excited for the rest, coming out soon'.

I'm not crazy about Grace, but happy to see a fresh face. Maybe this is a in between year (like with Suvi) and they bring next season another timeless model.

I do find it quite interesting. At least is not boring.

Womenswear campaign is one of the worst I've seen in a while. I'm baffled at how awful it is. I also agree with commentators saying that Grace is not a good fit. Such a downgrade from Vanessa. Did CK also stop giving multi year contracts as Vanessa was out after only 2 seasons?

Actually Vanessa had the mainline campaign from F/W 2013 until Spring/Summer 2015 so I assume they signed her for a 2-year contract.

I'm not as bothered that they did two distinct campaigns for menswear and womenswear. They collections are done by two different designers after all, so it would be awkward to try to force both into a single campaign if they didn't mesh perfectly.

Like vanpersie said, hopefully this is just a transition phase while they look for a model who would be a better fit for a long-term contract. Although I think they should bring back Vanessa. But only if she's photographed by Mert & Marcus or Meisel.

Calvin Klein Collection needs a MAJOR shakeup. This is pitiful.

Costa needs to go. He used to have a voice within the industry that was recognizably and uniquely his - around 2007-2009....but at this point there is no personality left in the brand. At all.

Cannot get over the fact that there's only 2 looks for the women's line in print!! That is, unless more shots are due to surface. How does this justify their expenditure on advertising??

I can only imagine some chaos happened in the progress, then they came up with a cost down redo.
