Calvin Klein Men's Underwear S/S 2017 By Willy Vanderperre

It's nice, but the logo thing is VERY confusing to say the least. It's a SL situation where some lines had different logos, so what is the point in the first place?

I find it amazing and the whole thing was done in the most perfect way. To release the campaign just after the Oscars is beyond clever. With the new exposure of the movie, it's genius.

Yes, it's boring. Yes, it's only muscles and a child. But the fact that non of them are a social media influencer and that it's not attached to an hashtag makes it more special.

^Completely agree

To me some of the photos with the older guy look like the pics daddies send you on Grinder to show off their muscles... With their buffed up (but not in a good way) bodies and not wanting to show their face that much. :ninja: If I was told that was the inspiration behind this I'd totally believe it.

And the one in the chair is just too odd and awkward. I actually see no point in it at all.

I also think that the idea behind this is the same as having Justin. They are using the hype and the fame of some guys to sell underwear. With this they are targeting to a different audience (older). That's the only difference.

I actually find Bieber's fresher. His campaign for CK is sort of an icon for pop culture. And it really revamped the brand between young people. I've never seen a fashion campaign working that much I think.

I don't love it but I don't hate it. I think their concept/approach is interesting but it could have been executed better.

The young boy also looks completely out of place and is just unnecessary.

Isn't the point of a CK underwear ad to be commercial? At least it looks good.

And it's not like the ads are pandering to the movie - they all look great and and especially mahershala and trevante could easily pass as underwear models, if you ask me . I'd rather raf uses someone both good looking and interesting if he needs to use 'famous' / relevant individuals to get people talking vs the biebers and the jennerss that were subjected to by CK - and other brands.

Firstly, I was talking about Willy Vanderperre being excessively commercial, not the campaign.

Secondly, of course the ad is pandering to the movie. You'd be a foolish to believe otherwise. Do you honestly think lining the leading male cast up like this is celebrating them? I mean I get it, we all liked the film and we all know how important a story it was, but it's seriously time to move on.

Many years ago Djimon Hounsou booked a CK underwear campaign. He wasn't in a hyped film at the time, or his face smeared all across magazines. And the end result looked dynamic, fresh, and aligned with the ethos of the time and this brand. Hounsou is both interesting and a legitimate actor. There are only two who match him in this campaign, but unfortunately they are rounded out by a tv star who got lucky, and a guy who's got the wit and looks of a Men's Health cover model. No need to put them on pedestals.

Mahershala Ali is a fantastic, hard working actor - i wouldn't reduce him to 'a tv star that got lucky' ....

And yeah, of course it's riding the hype of the film, but nothing about this feels pandering to me - these images stand out on their own and i wonder how many people - speaking about the general population at large - will identify any of them, save Mahershala, maybe.

As for 'it's time to move on' - the film literally won an historic oscar 4 days ago, and i haven't seen any of these men (again, save mahershala, and way less than the usual overexposure hyped actors get) shoved down my throat at any chance by the fashion (or otherwise) press... maybe it's about to happen, but if so - props to raf for getting there first

I don't like it at all. There's nothing interesting in it and the pictures are just meh.

I see you in every thread and it's always with some negative comment. Do you dislike everything?!

In my opinion this is breathtaking and timely and wonderful. They must've shot this months ago - certainly not anticipating a Moonlight win for Best Picture at the Oscars.

It's a wonderful campaign. The photography is so natural and everyone gets to shine in their unique way. Trevante is ludicrously perfect for an underwear campaign. Just so sexy!

Trevante Rhodes's body is uff insane, he is just perfect. Everyone looks great.
