Calvin Klein S/S 06 New York

To add to my post and to the others, I wouldn't know if this was a good CK collection, since I have NO knowledge of the CK's history when Calvin Klein was actually designing still.

Im soo happy that a house was able to find someone that adjusts to the style of the original designer ... just for that fact... CK is back on my good list ... there was a point at the end of the 90's where I was sick of minimal ... but it's growing on me ... I like it

i wish we had a 'yawn' smiley. i'd use it repetitively right now.

So Anna Wintour had one of her hot flashes...:D.

Personally, I think it is a bit rude to walk out completely, unless the waiting time is horribly long and unacceptable.

She could have cooled off somewhere, and then head back to the show, if the clothes are the reason to be there.

if anna can't stand all the celebs at the shows anymore, she herself should stop using them on vogue cover!! she's contributing to this in more than one way herself.....

Booooring, only good thing about Calvin Klein is underwears.

This collection is so safe that it's boring... I would have walked out too.

Not the most colourful collection but kinda like it. Like some said he is playing it safe!! Anna...what a drame queen :p

thank you! i was thinking the EXACT same thing when i read about her dramatic exit. you reap what you sow anna!

:flower:

Not overly excited by this, but here are a few more from style.com that I liked. I'm bored by the drab taupes he uses and wished that he had used more of the emerald and amethyst. I suppose that's not very CK though :p

Like everyone has mentioned it's TYPICAL CK fashion. I like some pieces but nothing grabbed me at all.

Don't like it, don't hate it. It leaves me completely indifferent.

review from style.com...interesting they didn't mention anna walking out (at least not by name):innocent:

The air-conditioning was on the fritz late Thursday afternoon at Milk Studios, and as the Calvin Klein audience wilted in the bleachers, some wondered aloud why the poor conditions persisted. After all, this wasn't a cash-strapped fashion upstart that people had come out for, but an iconic American brand owned by a multibillion-dollar company. Many resorted to fanning themselves with their program notes, which offered some relief, but not enough. It's too bad, because Francisco Costa, now in his sixth season at Calvin, turned out one of his strongest, and coolest, collections to date. Circles and, to a lesser extent, the sixties were his themes, made evident in Empire-waist dresses with tiny dots and oversize, geometric designs silk-screened onto A-line shifts. He even offered his own minimalist take on one of the season's big trends, ruffles, by stringing circles together and stitching them at their centers to the hem of a cocktail number. Pleating on cotton voile, georgette, and chiffon (Note to stylist: Lose the skimpy panties) was another recurring motif. But it wasn't all about wovens. He reclaimed the cable knit from the bookish set, and draped jersey into a couple of soft day dresses. These last two looks were most reminiscent of the old Calvin. Now that Costa is developing his fresh, new signatures, maybe it's time for a fresh, new venue.

I actually like this collection a lot. The sensibilities are well honed. Simple but just the right kid of detail to keep me interested.

ditto, its quite cute and calm, which i like a lot
not sure about all this transparency though, i couldnt wear the sheer looks
love the 'dot' fabrics, very 'new' in fabric developement

as for anna w., what liberty said :

:D
