Candice sizzles in Sophie Theallet

For Sophie Theallet, the modern woman has to have something sexy and mysterious to her. That inner passion equals confidence in the master designer’s eyes and no one is more representative of that feeling than newly joined to our Top Sexiest Models list, Candice Huffine. We spoke to the designer about the essence of her woman, the inspiration behind the Fall 2015 campaign, and what makes Candice Huffine stand out from the conventional crowd.

How did the campaign come about? What was the inspiration behind the visuals?
I love Candice and I consider her to be at the top of her game. She really knows about fashion and she works with the best at that high level and professionalism. She’s not afraid to give it all so it was common sense for me to work with her.

Do you think Candice embodies the modern woman?
Definitely! There is only one Candice!

What are you looking when it comes to a model?
There has to be a special je ne sais quoi to them. I love girls that are real personalities and completely at ease with their body; girls that embrace their sensuality. That’s what I loved about Candice when I first met her.

What drew you to Candice to be the spokeswoman for the campaign?
I’ve worked with her before and we’re friends. We went to dinner and her spirit drew me to her. For the campaign, we worked with the incredible photographer, Tiziano Magni, and the vision came to life. He is the king of lighting and the ways that he made Candice move was insane. Candice taking that very graphic shape that you see in the visual just happened in the moment.

What is the spirit of the Sophie Theallet woman? Which women of the past or present embody this spirit?
It’s all about sensuality, a strong personality, and nonconformity. She’s someone who likes to dress for herself and the people around her. My best friend, “Betty Blue” Beatrice Dalle demonstrates the spirit of the woman that I love.

As far as this season’s collection, what was the main inspiration behind it?
For me, it was simply about my woman. I wanted to focus on the sensuality of a woman and make clothes that brought that out. Voilà!
