Candice on the other hand looks short when compared with the other angels and models, even Miranda, who's only about 5'9".

I think Candice looks rather underwhemling on the runway. She's a tad too short, and her tiny frame isn't conducive to donning those gigantic wings and other paraphernalia they tack on. Gisele and Adriana used to look majestic on the runway by dint of their taller and broader frames. Candice, as opposed to Adriana, looks far better in print.

fyi: candice isn't that short. i've met both candice and gisele and i can tell you right now that gisele is much much shorter than reported in the media. gisele is about 177cm. she was shorter than a handful of the girls listed as 178/179 on their cards. during fashion week, i saw candice with aline weber who is listed at 179 at her agencies (but looks more like 177) and there was barely a difference. candice is most likely 175 and if not, a little more than that.

none of the vs girls are actually that tall except for erin and lindsay. doutzen is close to candice's height at roughly 176. candice has a tiny ribcage/very narrow torso which might make her seem tinier and on top of that she has a lot of back curve in her posture. gisele is shaped very straight up and down with most of her muscular weight in her upper body--that makes her appear taller when she is not.

candice isn't that far from the classic angels' heights either. stephanie seymour, heidi at 175 and helena christensen and karen mulder not too far from that.
i'd rather see someone like candice than toni or karlie who are too boyish and lanky.

I've always found Alessandra's legs short too, always compared to her upper body. She doesn't have the best body ratio, but she makes up for it in the face department. And the first time I saw Candice on the VS runway I actually gasped at her body, for me the best one on the VSFS. That waist..

Does anyone else here think that if Candice landed an SI cover she would literally blow up in the media? I feel like she would become so famous and could actually become a supermodel! I mean if Kate Upton came out of nowhere and got an SI cover and now is super famous, imagine if that happened to Candice?!

No. I think that a Sports Illustrated cover would raise Candice's profile but she would not blow up in the media, at least not in the long term. The thing about Kate Upton is that she did not come out of nowhere, she has a big personality, moxie and has been promoting herself in social media for a while, and that is why IMO she landed the cover of Sports Illustrated, and then after landing the cover she has continued to promote herself in the entertainment and fashion sectors. Prior to Kate Upton there were three WAGs on the cover, and prior to them, Marisa Miller and Beyonce were on the covers, so it seems like to land the SI cover these days you have to already have some recognition, and Candice does have that level of recognition through VS, but I don't know if she can parlay a SI cover into supermodeldom, or get the synergistic benefits of being a SI cover model and VS Angel that Tyra and Heidi did.

I like the personality and spark that I have seen from Candice in recent months, and she also seems ambitious and hard working and is probably in the top tier of models working today, so her career is going gangbusters, but I see Kate Upton possessing a greater amount of the raw material to, not so much become a supermodel, but to become a star model and celebrity in her own right a la Heidi and Tyra, or if not reach their levels, then reach the level attained by Marisa and Brooklyn, or somewhere in between. I would like to see Candice, Maryna and some others do SI, so I am very cool with that, but I don't see how a Sports Illustrated cover would put Candice on a "blow up" trajectory in a way that VS would not have already done, she would have to add other things in the mix like a famous boyfriend, a mega-popular / iconic TV commercial or campaign, or a noteworthy appearance in a movie or TV show.

I love her body, looks trained and I like her figure in candids better.
On another note her clothes sometimes look like they're from the kid section, not just because of size but because of the clothes themselves. Like in #904, what is that?

Looks like a sports bra to me. And she looks fine. Candids from that day have her splashing water on her face so I can imagine how hot it was/is in Miami. I don't blame her for wearing as little as possible.

Angels On Hold

Victoria's Secret has postponed the opening of its two London stores. The US lingerie giant had planned to open a store on Bond Street and another in Stratford's Westfield Shopping Centre just in time for the Olympics' opening ceremony, but it seems that sports fans visiting the city for the event won't be able to catch a glimpse of the Angels after all.

No date has as yet been confirmed, but a spokesperson for the label has revealed that the stores won't open during July.
