Candice Turns Marilyn For Max Factor
WHEN Max Factor announced the late Marilyn Monroe as its new global glamour ambassador earlier this year, we were interested to see how the partnership would play out. Now, Max Factor global creative director Pat McGrath has transformed brand ambassador Candice Swanepoel into the Hollywood star for a new campaign, complete with classic red lips, arched brows and feline eyeliner flicks - a look the model first shared on her Instagram account in January when the imagery was shot.
"Marilyn made the sultry red lip, creamy skin and dramatically lined eyes the most famous beauty look of the Forties and it's a look that continues to dominate the beauty and fashion industry," said McGrath when the collaboration was announced. "It is the ultimate look that defines glamour - nothing else compares. Ruby Tuesday, inspired by one of Marilyn's favourite Max Factor lipsticks, is still my go-to red today for an instant shot of glamour, and continues to be one of the most popular shades for both make-up artists and real women."
Along with the Colour Elixir Lipstick in Ruby Tuesday, key products include the Excess Intensity Longwear Eye Liner in Black, False Lash Effect Mascara and Colour Elixir Lip Pencil in Red Rush.
Max Factor has also previously turned Swanepoel's fellow brand ambassador Gwyneth Paltrow into Madonna, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and Farrah Fawcett for its campaigns.
