I just realized it is almost impossible for me to wear flats today. I put on a pair of flat suede boots this morning and before I had even left the house my feet were aching! I changed into my normal four inch and was fine.

:P My feet are definitely most comfortable in 4 inches as well. ^_^

my great-grandmother couldn't wear flats. when she was in her 90's she was still in heels all day, around the house, etc because her feet were so used to a lifetime of heels. this can't be good!!

Oh I am def. the same way! It took me a while of walking around in the house with flats on to get used to them.

It's good to know I'm not the only one here in heels!

god, i wish i had your problems, heel kill my nonexistant arches

I can wear flip flips no problem, but flats hurt big toe for whatever reason. They're not too small or anything, too big if anything.

I still wear them though, I'm hoping they just need breaking in or something.

if you find flats too 'painful' to wear you might want to try getting a pair of orthodic insoles for your flat shoes... they work wonders... ^_^

what is that they say?
you cant be too thin, too rich, and too comfortable in heels?
i think its great that you wear heels all the time.

I can't wear "flat flats" either, I prefer shoes with a minimum heel of 1 inch. The slight raise of the foot's heel does wonder for the balance and posture. That is, your butt looks much better.:D

Also, I second brian's advice: often the problem with flats is that they don't take the foot's arch into account. I know this because my best (and nearly only...) non-sneaker flat shoes are
a) a pair of Birkenstocks and
b) a pair of Timberland boots which I bought after trying on almost every pair of flat boots in the city and feeling that they were neither comfortable nor aesthetically pleasant (I'm about 1,5 meters tall and they made me look like a little Hobbit with flat feet!!:P ) And they have both a good, comfortable insole and a heel of about one inch.

Generally speaking, I live in heels because I'm short and because nearly all my trousers are cut for 3 or 4 inch shoes...

I wish I could be that comfortable in heels..... *Sigh*

Sometimes they pinch like at the back.....But usually, they are quite comfortable

i can't wear flats. they hurt, and i just can't walk in them. i look ridiculous trying.

i know this isn't related to the topic but,

i have really small feet and its impossible for me to wear flats too. they just always slip off.
and it angrys me cos i want to wear flats.

i like wearing flats but i love the feeling of wearing heels but i just dont live in a place where i can pull off wearing heels all the time
i look funny in flats though compared to heels lol short and stumpy lol

i'm so envious of all you girls. i can't wear heels at all. i've always wondered whether having small feet make wearing heels easier? i wear size 40, and notice that alot of nice heels are sold out in smaller sizes whereas flat shoes are sold out in larger sizes....

does having large feet mean there's alot of "foot" sliding down exerting extra pressure on the toes on the front of the shoe? on an absolute basis, it might make for a bigger gap in the back of the shoe?

that's my problem too... i gopt the cutest pair thinking this time i'll wear them, but they live in thier box in the closet. is there a way to kind of 'break them in'? when the back hurts to walk that is. :flower:

wow thats odd!! used to 4 inch heels??
hahaha~
i am so used to flats and runners... but i love heels, except i cant walk when i wear them after like 2 hours!
