Estonian supermodel Carmen Kass has established a credit loan company called Creditmarket, that operates in Finland and Estonia, giving loans with an annual interest rate of up to 782 percent.
For example, in Finland the company offers SMS loans for in the amount of 50-300 Euros. The annual interest of the the relevant one- and two-week loans reaches as high as 782 percent. Finns only need to send an SMS with their personal ID and bank account number and will be issued a loan shortly.
Kass used to offer the same kind of SMS loan in Estonia, but gave up of that, partly because of controversy related to the service in Estonia. Now Creditmarket is offering small loans on the Internet, among them, for example, e-loan, mortgage loan, suretyship loan, business loan etc, and also a housling loan in the amount of up to $100 000.
The company claims to have more than 15 000 clients in Estonia and wants to expand the business to Latvia and Lithuania.
Kass has not given any statements thus far concerning her loan business, bringing her tight modelling schedule as an excuse.
Kass has modeled for top designers such as Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada, Versace, Chanel etc, posed in numerous advertisements for Calvin Klein, Chanel, Donna Karan, Givenchy, Fendi, Michael Kors, Versace and General Motors) and been the cover girl for worldwide magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Image etc.
Kass is considered one of the most famous Estonians of all time.
