Carolina Herrera F/W 2023.24 New York

I guess I'm able to enjoy this (for what it seems to be to me). Of course I don't like every single look (some are even hard to "understand") but as a whole, it is, let's say, nice.

The brand always keeps it beautiful and sophisticated and that explains its longetivity.

This really isn't my thing at all. Way too pretty to really sway me in any way, but I will admit that there is some simply beautiful pieces of dress making here.

I do think there's too many random pieces in this though. Some could have been the premise for their own or a different collection. I can't really say it is the editing of the collection, more so the conception of it that needs to be a bit more considered.

There is no cohesion but these are all classic couture 50s/60s shapes and there is no dearth of really rich women who will buy this in the hordes

The first half of the show is to die for! Wes is truly a fantastic designer helming such a glamorous brand like Carolina Herrera! He could also do well taking over Oscar de la Renta!

this is such a disordered and unfocused collection. i see dior, chanel, valli, pierpaolo's valentino, daniel's schiaparelli...

imo it's nothing more than a pastiche of dated fashion cliches and old-world couture allusions.
