Carolina Herrera F/W 2025.26 New York

Beautiful, lovely collection.

The fashion show could be improved, though.
The industrial setting reminded of a Balenciaga garage, the poppies on the floor reminded of Kenzo, and the music was uneventful.

Imagine these same outfits walking through the flower labyrinth of Raf's first Dior.

Still, one of the highlights of NY.

This is quite lovely for a modest and conservative brand like CH. I think with a better color palette, it would make a stronger statement like their Mexico resort collection, but Wes has been doing a good job keeping this brand afloat.

A good, solid collection. He has really found his footing at the Carolina Herrera. He has found a balance of youthfulness and maturity.

It is such a personal brand and he has managed to respect Carolina’s legacy in a tasteful way. I hope he manages to get even stronger and stay at the house for a long and fruitful time.

A few of the looks were so exquisite - the poplin shirts over black lace skirts were very Gianfranco Ferre, at the same time echoing Carolina Herrera's personal style. The trench coatdress, again with a black lace skirt, was delicious.

At the same time, some of the looks were quite similar to Pierpaolo Piccioli's Valentino. I thought that those were less successful.

Sometimes I question the direction Puig is taking as a group. Rabanne appears to be producing knock-offs of Vuitton, Herrera seems to be offering variations of ODLR and Chanel (some of the tweed looks are more Self-Portraits lamo) and the new Dries appears to be drawing inspiration from Galliano's Margiela. Jean Paul Gaultier has struggled to find effective guest designers, and Nina Ricci has suffered from a decline in quality and has become a subject of ridicule online.

A cut above the rest. Another fine example of the wonders Wes Gordon continues to do as Carolina Herrera creative director. He's brought new life into the brand, and still remains true to its heritage. A flawless collection from opening to closing look, and a total highlight of mine from New York Fashion Week!
