Caroline Reuter (18) wants to start after graduation as a model
Her dream of a modeling career came considerably closer to Caroline Reuter last year. Her victory in the model competition "Metropolitan Models Belux" secured her a contract with the eponymous and world-renowned agency. Under different names like Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova and Heidi Klum have already worked together with "Metropolitan Models".
Whether Caroline can hope for a similar breakthrough, but will only show with time, because until the summer of this year, the focus of the 18-year-old is still on her high school diploma.
Casting in the cafe
After Caroline was addressed several times on the street and then seriously thought about modeling, she decided to take the step last fall. "The casting took place in the 'Boos Beach Club', a café. Since it was an open casting, and of course by the more relaxed location, the nervousness was somewhat muted, "reveals the model aspirant.
She was assisted in the casting by her mother and her brother, who also accompanied her to the semi-finals and the final in Brussels. The selection criteria were quite clear: Girls had to be between 14 and 22 years old, boys between 16 and 24, and the size of course also played a role. The minimum size was 1.73 meters for girls and 1.84 meters for boys. "I think they always have an idea of the guy they're looking for, which clearly influences the decision, but only those who know how to organize the whole thing know that," explains Caroline. Today, after her victory, we know with certainty that she probably fits exactly into the scheme of the agency.
Who made it to the finals, then was allowed to sniff once true model business air. Even before the big show, the finalists traveled together to Brussels, where they trained with a personal trainer and learned to walk on high heels. "Running on high shoes was difficult at first, but after the coaching it worked out by itself. The personal trainer has shown us a lot of tricks that make running easier and easier to look like it should be, "explains the winner of the competition.
On the day of the final, the finalists already had to be in Brussels at ten in the morning to go through the process several more times. "The rehearsals on the final day helped a lot to break down the last uncertainties and nervousness."
Of course, a touch of excitement will always persist, it is ultimately about the dream of countless girls and boys, which will only be fulfilled for a few. And despite this pressure, competition was hardly to be considered. "Of course we knew that one would win, but since we saw each other so little and did not know what kind of types the agency was looking for, there was no real competition." That's why Caroline's surprise at her victory. "I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the time, and of course, when I won, I was overjoyed, but just surprised."
Diploma before breakthrough
On the day of our phone call, the young high school graduate devoted herself for the first time to her newly acquired model life. She made an appointment at the Paris agency to talk about her contract for the first time. For the first time during the holidays she had time to deal with it in more detail. During the examination phase, the "new face" concentrated on the school in exemplary fashion.
This does not mean, however, that Caroline has yet to do anything technically in terms of model technology. Recently she was in front of the camera for the shoe brand "Montaigne Paris". How it goes now after her graduation, she sees, when the time comes. Now the school is still in first place and in her free time she devotes herself to her dream of modeling.
