I originally posted the following message in the thread discussing Horyn's recent blog entry on The NYT (Sign of the Times: http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/...slimane-ysl-nicolas-ghesquiere-louis-vuitton/) and was redirected here. So, I'm asking: Is Cathy Horyn back at The NYT? For good? And if she is back, does it mean anything that she chose to return with this sort of piece offering to Slimane?
I'm not sure that was a peace offering. While she used him as an example to praise the current state of fashion, it was clear she remains unwavering about her view of him:
And reminding readers that he banned her from the YSL shows isn't exactly burying the hatchet either.
I love Cathyrn's writing, though. Her hard criticism (by fashion industry standards; I think tfs'ers are more blunt in their criticisms of the shows) are always precise and it's their loss for not listening.
