Celine Cruise 2026 by Zoë Ghertner

Zoë Ghertner as a photographer is extremely underwhelming and I can’t understand why people constantly book her?!

I can’t imagine people flipping through a magazine to stop and stare at her images.

Celine definitely should have stuck with Sadli or go a completely different route than this…

An appetizer.
And I refuse to frame it as anything other than that.

Even the campaign's aesthetic is somewhere between Phoebe's and Hedi's..

I though the visuals released after the show were already the campaign.
The « products » shots is very reminiscent of Celine’s first few campaigns by Teller. The Art Direction follows Hedi.
I just love that kind of light. Not so convinced by the cast. I’m more and more displeased in seeing teenagers on campaigns trying to sell me grown women stuff (but that’s another discussion) but I love the products shots.

I like studio photography when executed well but these photographs are not good.

Does anyone know if this collection has any novelty rings? I can’t tell from the campaign.

Those bags looks so flimsy.
Why does the show fittings/snaps look better than the real campaign.

She lucked out on the whole female-gaze frenzy, that hilariously hyped mediocre catalogue/product/content photographers as revolutionaries.

A genuine talent like Annemarieke van Drimmelen never needed the reliance of gender-identity to hype her skills: She would have produced wonders of a campaign for this brand’s department-store products. But midrange department-store imagery to go along with the department-store merch it is for Rider’s Celine, I guess.

She got prominent during the “let’s hire women photogrpahers” me-too era. I agree with you, what a bore.

He understands the assignment but somehow something is still not quite there. It does feel familiar and comfortable, almost desirable but is missing a certain allure that either a better casting or a less charged styling will achieve. Still, I think I like it.

He means well..

Zoe's been getting gigs way before the me-too era, and had shot multiple Celine campaigns since Pre-fall 2015.

zoe is pre me-too (2017?) but she is post 'girl gaze' (2013) petra collins etc. she came up after that.. i dont think me too had anythingto do w zoe's popularity but for sure 'girl gaze' might have

whatever... pre girl gaze annie l. was always the no 1 biggest photog, after her, sally mann, nan goldin, marilyn minter, inez v, julia magaret cameron, dorothea lange, diane arbus, cindy sherman, ellen von unwerth, lillian bass?? louise dahl wolfe?? i really resent the fact that the industry fetishized women to the point it feels like some mediocre ppl got elevated un-duly.. and now ppl on here claim it had something to do with me too???

these would be nice if they were lookbook images, phoebe has done exactly this anyway 100 times.. for a debut campaign its shamefully nothing, says nothing, is deeply 2016 phoebe philo...
