Celine 'Les Collection Grands Classiques' #04 2021 : Rebecca Longendyke by Hedi Slimane

That angle from which they photographed Rebecca in the last two shots really doesn't flatter her.

All that I've learnt from looking at Celine's campaigns is that Hedi really believes letting your hair air dry counts as an aesthetical philosophy.

The budget would be better spent in a social media person who posts florid descriptions of just how exclusive and luxurious a Celine track suit jacket really is...

Just imagine how that hair must be a "creation" of team of hair professionals, charging thousands.

Ahh! We joke but that was what Loic Prigent's latest Celine video was about!

I will say his work looks better when it's on a real model (like the Rianne campaign a few seasons back)

So repetitive and redundant. It's the same aesthetic that he did five years ago at Saint Laurent and it will be the exact same aesthetic in five years wherever he goes next. Boring.

To be completely honest, it's on a rare occasion that I find myself hating on a Celine campaign lensed by Hedi Slimane. This, along with so many others, have felt like an instant classic. OTT glamour will always be my fave but I also like undone effortless glam - and Slimane's Celine campaigns always deliver on that.

I know it’s controversial, and a lot of people find Celine pedestrian, boring and repetitive, but I rather like that. Celine has always been easy to wear clothes for everyday. Hedi appeals to a younger clientele who have a tonne of money, and wear his clothes on a daily basis. I can’t complain, and yes, the campaign is simple and in a studio, but I personally like it!
