Chanel and dior-bad for your skin

I am not even surprised. In fact I am surprised Clinique isn't on this list
seriously. i would use Dior or Chanel before i would use Clinique...i like toners with some alcohol in them (the non-irritating kind) but with Clinique's Clarifying Lotions you could use them as cleaner for countertops they have so much alcohol in them!!

And i would use Dior before i ever used Chanel skincare. Dior actually has like someone mentioned proven results...their Capture Essential line has some good products and their really high end line, Prestige is supposed to have really rare nectar pollen or something or other as their "effective and patended ingredient". i have always used fabulous and expensive products on my face and never really shelled out a lot for clothing or accessories because your face is what people see first and i'd rather have a beautiful complexion than designer clothing and bad skin. still, i think its tacky to use a designer skincare, and i'm really surprised Versace skincare isnt on the survey. That just sounds so disgusting. Versace skincare?! Ugh. i wonder if its even on the market anymore...anyone know?

What I find with French cosmetics company is that, their fragrance in the procuts are overwhelming. And my skin is allergic to most of their fragrances.

I do not like skincare from Chanel. Dior I have not really tried so I can't say anything. However I do love Purete Mat pressed powder from Chanel and it has never caused me any skin problems ie rashes, spots or acne.

I find all the French skincare lines I've tried--Chanel, Dior, Guinot, Lancome, Orlane, Clarins, and Decleor--to be a bit too perfumey for my tastes. I do love Clarins Eau Dynamisante fragrance, and their Huile Lotus facial oil, but there's always too many products the SA's want you to use in conjunction.
Plus with the strong Euro to US Dollar, it's all much too expensive!

At the skincare board I visit (makeupalley's), everyone seems to be very big on using olive oil, a mild foaming cleanser, some form of prescription retinoid, a basic moisturizer, stable vitamin C serums and high SPF/PPD broad-spectrum sunscreens. It seems there's real science behind retinoids, Vitamin C, and sunscreen, especially, as being truly valuable skincare.

But if you dig Chanel, and it works for you, good. I still like my fancy cremes, too!

Now you compare, what do you want on your face, a Nobel Prize winner or Karl Lagerfeld's idea??

Karl Lagerfeld's cause he is soo smart *sarcasm, sarcasm:sick: *. Naw, it is cool that Dior actually has science behind it.

I have no experience with Chanel or Dior scincare, I usually use pharmacy brands. However, I used Dior Plasticity for a month and was quite impressed.

This I need you to explain to me.
As far as I know, the 2003 nobelprize in chemistry went to Peter Agre for discovering Aquaporins. Aquaporins never needed to be invented, as they exist in basically in all parts of your body. After discovering the first aquaporin, AQP1, there are now 12 known aquaporins. More than 200 isoforms have been discovered in plants.

This is the list of nobel prize winners: http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/lists/all/all_laureates_c.html

Sorry for being all nerdy -I know, I'm kind of freaky when it comes to cell biology. :D

wow.

All of this information is in the Dior training books and sales point resources that Dior used for the customers. I hope "nerd" comes up to one of these SAs and shuts them up when they're trying to sound all important and know it all

How are they bad for your skin? Granted (from those brands) I only use this chap stick thing by Chanel and Dior Show mascara but I have no problem with either. I have also used a Chanel skin cream, I forget what it is called but it was light blue and again I had no problems with it.

Is there any proof? Sorry I just do not understand what makes them bad...maybe different skin types react differently to the product which practically ALL skin products do

Anastazja said that they had issues with the make-up not the creams..
I've never had a problem with the make up, I love it, but I found their creams to be too rich (Chanel). so I thought Chanel is meant to be used by more mature skins (i'm 20.)

I used the Hydraction serum and face cream by Dior which are based on aquaporins and my skin wasn't quite moisturised as a test showed. However, I was impressed by Capture cream and of course by the Diorshow mascara. And what about Lancome products? Are there any reports about them?

I tried the Dior Hydra-Sorbet Aquatique and the perfume used is just too much for me. :yuk: I normally only use essential oil based fragrances so this caught me by surprise.

It didn't moisturized as promise and it stung a bit (probably from the fragrance).
