Chanel & Burberry part ways with Kate Moss

OK, I know "wanker" means something like "loser"...? But is it more specific than that? Just curious about the word itself...

It refers to the auto-erotic act. Specifically male.

Yes, well... I knew that, Poc. But what does it mean when you refer to people? Someone who watches but doesn't participate, or what? What makes a wanker a wanker, besides the act of pleasuring oneself?

Someone who does. As in someone who can't get it off by any other way, if you know what I'm saying. (basically, someone without a lady-friend/man-friend).

^^^^ I thought this thread was about Kate Moss????

Anyway,I am glad that a slew of youngsters out there are being taught that actions carry consequences,no matter who you are.^_^

I just saw those pictures are byranboy.com (with the text) and people here were talking about how her skin looks so I just thought I post it. I feel bad for Miss Moss.

Ha...wanker, reminds me of The Office, "Wank you very much"

That pic...it's not so bad. The texture of her skin is still quite ok. She just looks like she left the concealer at home. So we have a 31 yo with normal wrinkles who didn't use much make up. Apparently this is considered a big deal in a world full of people with no knowledge of photoshoping, make-up and lighting.

Pretty weird, IMO, and rather limited understanding of Kate's greatness. I mean, she is cool because she's a rock chic. You wouldn't expect her to be botoxed and perfectly made up when she's at a rock festival.

From the sun.co.uk:

COSMETICS giant Rimmel was slammed yesterday for cashing in on Kate Moss's drug shame in a new TV ad campaign.
Commercials will see the model living up to her wild image by partying all night - before applying make-up in a taxi and arriving for work looking stunning.

Two ads for a new foundation - ironically called RECOVERY - were shot days before her cocaine habit was exposed.

Rimmel, whose products target teenagers, was revealed to be pressing ahead with the
£500,000 TV and cinema campaign as sources said Kate would go into rehab abroad within 24 hours.

Lib Dem MP John Hemming said yesterday: "Cocaine damages people's lives.

It is sad a company would endorse that sort of activity for commercial reasons."

Croydon-born Kate, 31, has a £1million contract with Rimmel. H&M, Burberry and Chanel have dumped her.

Last night it was claimed she will NOT now be flying back to Britain from New York this week as expected. Cops had been expected to quiz her.

Advertising insiders believe Rimmel executives helped persuade Kate to publicly apologise for her behaviour last Thursday.

The firm's parent company Coty Beauty said last night: "We have welcomed her statement and apology but we are still reviewing her contract.

"We do however offer her and anyone else going through the same thing all our support."

Kate is in talks with Michael Parkinson to be interviewed on TV.

Jonathan Ross, Oprah Winfrey and Martin Bashir are also chasing a deal with her.

Kate is supposed to be a mother ... but where is her daughter exactly while she is out clubbing, fooling around with Pete, getting naked in the back of taxi cabs...Whre does Kate Moss keep her daughter ... in her pocket? In her handbag?

im sorry but when people are at their lowest, others will dig up anything they can find to trample on them more.
it shows a complete lack of humanity and love

I agree. Kate is getting help for her addiction and has faced the consequences of her actions. What more does the media want? Someone in that situation needs support, not constantly being lectured by loads of different people, whether they be politicians or celebrities.

it is apparent how the media have treated Kate, but l thought there was nothing such as bad publicity, Kate has been everywhere, the news the news papers and magazines making her an even bigger personality than she was even if it is because of drugs, this will actually probably increase her celebrity status and would probably boost her career further in the long run! So i would have to agree that there is no such thing as bad publicity.

One would assume there are many nannies/care-takers involved in Lila's life, as with most very rich children. Not saying right or wrong, just a fact of life.

Did Rimmel part with her yet? I read somewhere that they dumped her.
if they havent already, i think they really should.

No, I dont agree

The use of Kate Moss as a model for rimmel is extremely good. Since they are a london brand, a british / London girl gives the right image to the company

Furthermore i heard that one of the campaigns they did was for a product called "recovery" or something similar, in which she parties around a whole night and the looks fabulous, she is perfectly casted for that campain

and as i said before i am ashamed of the fashion industry to give up on her like that, she has earned the companies millions, and as fast as she is painted as a druggie in mainstream media (since that picture is well known amongst the rest of us) they drop her campaigns, really pathetic

What she probably needs right now is stability, and dropping her contracts does not help her situation.

I support Kate Moss

^ I agree completely. An industry that took a child (14) and made her what she is; then crucifies her for doing all that it taught her. Rupugnant!
:furious:
