Chanel F/W 2025.26 Pre-Collection : Jennie by Craig McDean | the Fashion Spot

Chanel F/W 2025.26 Pre-Collection : Jennie by Craig McDean

For what is worth…It looks chic even though with Jennie (who is beige) and the kind of photography (which is beige), it’s quite boring.
You need more dynamic photography and people when you are doing basics.

That’s where someone like Patrick Demarchelier or even Jean Paul Goude used to shine. They would put some life into their photos.

Jennie is a perfect woman even if she was grey(i am not even a fan) the cloths and direction is pedestrian not chic.... yes chic if i was going to carrefour but for this we don't need a ad for.

if everything but the clothes have to change for it to be great maybe it's the clothes that is the issue ?

lol

I mean those pre-collections are a bit Chanel’s version of a wardrobe (as they don’t have a permanent RTW collection). I’m glad that for once I don’t see jeans with logos, logos à gogo everywhere. A dose of normality is not bad.
I mean, finally a normal looking pair of jeans.

The look with the leather coat is great but indeed chic if your are going to do groceries…
But darling, the Chanel woman goes to La Grande Épicerie or Monoprix. She is not like us peasant hanging around in Carrefour ahaha.

I wonder who styled it. It’s strangely devoid of accessories for Chanel.

yes yes i agree with the intentions behind all Chanel drops even coco beach etc its all fine and what the customers look forward to.
But we all know a Chanel jeans with just a chain detail on the side can cost 5k fro that we don't need normality"quiet luxury",represented in an Chanel ad.

thus we don't need normcore chanel ads that's my point i like simple boring things that are well made but Chanel is also not known for that to an extent.

Demand for luxury isn't vanishing, but consumers are becoming more selective, with higher expectations around narrative, depth, and cultural relevance from brands also with hiring Blazy part of this looking forward they should bridge this period more confidently not dumbing down like a corporate ecom brand.

Chanel did many times in the past easy elegance etc but the clothes or styling had a twist that show fashion direction within the Chanel world placed in the contemporary world.... this is just plain corporate vomit

Many ladies buying chanel rtw also shop at carrefour let's not pretend people in penthouses don't like a bargain ..we all know very rich people have cheap habits as well.

How many people with big hermes collection dont have things from amazon at home as you can see online constantly...or people that have amazing furniture with auction/resale value and huge houses but don't buy into labels at chanel price level etc

the luxury customer is not uniform with allocation of spending , one might live small and travel alot and have nice things to dress when others are opposite in spending habits.

i know deep down in your hart you know lots of brands we love are doing us a disservice on all levels.

Of course they do ( I’m one of them ) but I love making a little bit fun of people that I’m often around and also kind of become a stereotype.
There’s something that has always fascinated me about the sociology of fashion and it customers…even more in Paris (even if it tends to disappear) it’s like the people who wears Rick Owens and who are living in Paris couldn’t live a more different life than Rick himself lol.

Nobody will make me believe that they come up with this is sort of things genuinely… it has to be a plan to put the brand’s image at its lowest and make MB the savior.

This is just so ugly. Not even a person working for Danone would come up with such a terrible campaign. Probably the worst ever at Chanel. Looks like something from La Redoute from decades ago.

And the Photoshop. So so so cheap. This brand is lost.

not Danone.... there goes my childhood snack lol  😭

but your right only way it can explain it that its done on purpose to make chanel so stripped of life so MB has the hero impact hehe

I mean, with their resources and their legacy it’s impossible that they don’t do this on purpose… I doubt no one at HQ sees that this is pure sh!t.

If I am wrong and this is not a strategy, I just need to lose the little faith I still have in the human being.

I can't unsee the "Jenny Craig" in the title.
I started to type that they went bankrupt and out of bit'nezz. But realized, that is Weight Watchers. Same difference.

Guess not, since one remains as one fades into the darkness.

I get wanting to cast a K-Pop girl for the press; and that each BP girl gets their own label to front- but Jennie is a lil too commercial for Chanel, dare I say. I know that's kind of the point- but once the new era starts, I hope the contract ends.

Seeing her and Dua for Chanel is actually very irritating, accessible and boring.

I'm not against plastic surgery but it's the cookie cutter South Korean face that really bores me.

Same i am not against plastic surgery but the cookie cutter Europeanism/Western face that really bores me like emma stone's new face.
