I'm afraid she thinks that she can continue modelling while trying to achieve some sort of a mini-celebrity status. Despite what Tyra tries to make the masses believe, you really cannot do both
I didn't like the Gossip Girl news either, her high fashion will suffer way too much from such exposure.

I don't see her trying to achieve celebrity status by hosting a FASHION WEEK Valentine's Day party or attending fashion social events. I see them as a way for her to forward her modeling career. There are people of great importance in the fashion industry, great clout, that attend those parties and social events also. People that might not be so opposed to casting her for a show, or signing her on for a campaign, having seen her at last night's party, yesterday's brunch, etc. She would be doing herself an injustice if all she did was walk a runway, have her face snapped for an editorial, and never do her part by making contacts. Chanel cannot force people to cast her for shows, so if she happens to be at a party instead of a show you all might have wanted to see her at, socializing and "pollying," I don't see an issue.

^ Beautiful! I rather Chanel explore her opinions instead of being labelled as just a supermodel. If she misses a few shows so be it, now that she's stepped her foot in the door her options are endless. She can have many other jobs in the Fashion Industry and be the boss and/or person who makes the decision. She shouldn't just model, she's young and should see what else is out there.
