I didn't see the part that you are referring to but Pharrell definitely knows who Karolina Kurkova is. Was he trying to pretend that this was his first trip to the model smorgasbord?

P.S. There was gossip that Pharrell and Karolina had a personal relationship, I don't know if that is true / was confirmed, but regardless they know each other because they've worked together.
