As much as I want it to be a shoot, it's probably a vacation LOL we all know she loves to travel and relax. But 20 hours? I'm guessing she's flying from NY to her destination. I wish she was coming to Hawaii but that would only take 10. Maybe she's going to China or South Korea? LOL Hopefully it's for a shoot though.

I think she would have said something if it was a vacation, and so close to the show? Eh. I don't think it's a leisure trip. These past couple of weeks have been all business for her. Australia is 20 hours from NYC, which is where she left from considering the GV event was tonight. We'll find out later tomorrow if she tweets anything. I think China and SK are a bit longer of a flight.

Good observation. I think we all thought that the move would help her career a bit, maybe she did as well which prompted the agency switch. I mean she has never really been a major campaign bagger unfortunately, and it isn't like it's the agency that decides who gets the campaigns it's ultimately the designers that aren't choosing her I can say though at least when she is in a magazine, it's been covers or editorials where she's heavily featured. I'll take that over her being in heavy rotation as a filler and playing the background in every shot.

Didn't she move to LA? Anyhoo, I agree I think that her high fashion career was headed towards filler-dom which happens to all but a handful of high fashion models and you have to hustle your butt off to get those jobs. You can tell that she is deliberately building her career around catalog modeling, not just because of VS but based on her work for H&M and Neiman Marcus. The Ralph Lauren event is an example, she attended it as opposed to walked in it. Her game plan seems to be to be a catalog model use that as a platform to become a celebrity and for branding.

My two cents about her career:
On the runway side she does special request which I think is the way to go.

For money she is going for catalog jobs which makes sense because of the high-end campaigns that she booked, Ralph Lauren and the DKNY fragrance are the only ones that I recall that seemed to be good money jobs, so she would have just been running around to castings subjecting herself to being judged and likely rejected as opposed to establishing a relationship with well-paying catalog clients like H&M.

She seems to go to a lot of events and is cultivating her brand and I don't have a problem with that.

The only think that I think that she should do more of is to try to get on the radar screen of the top photographers and editors (what's up with her and Anna?), but in fairness to her she had done editorial work, so I don't know if she is being complacent or if the top editors and photographers are not interested in her. If I were her, and if she is not already doing it, I would be more pro-active with the first and second tier photographers and publications, Vogue Italia would be ideal but her spread in Elle Italia was great as well, so IMO she needs to keep pursuing that kind of work. Also along the lines of my previous point, if she is trying to mainstream herself, she may want to do an ed for Essence (and hopefully cover), Glamour, Cosmo and / or Allure. If she and Kanye are tight, perhaps she can he the girl in a spread with him in GQ or Vogue.
