Chanel Iman

I think Chanel is on the US Vogue cover :)

^Um yeah. Someone mentioned it on this same page.

Anyways...I'm not happy about it. I like Chanel, she's very beautiful, but she's not deserving of this cover.

I am defintiely not her fan,i dont think she is unique or has that x/factor that other models who succeded had.But.....she is currently the only Black model getting hihg profiled jobs so huge respect for that. The fact that she got on the cover of US Vogue is amazing,it will be great for her career.

With a name like Chanel Iman and a face fashion-worthy enough great things are expected of her because it will be the total cliche.

I do think she is too young and vogue is taking a chance on putting her on the cover. She may not be so big now but on the far far future, in a few more seasons she may become a runway staple.

I have to say I am happy to see her! I think I'm one of the only ones though. I hope it helps her career.

nooo I'm very Happy for her!

She may be too young in the game, but at such a young age she has done great for big name runway shows. She may not have may editorials but she is most deserving as far as being name "next supermodel." Whether she works hard and becomes one is up to her! She's been all over, a despite what people think about her looks, the fashion industry seems to think differently about her. You don't have to like her to know she's made a name for herself. At least give her some props.....(lol, son)

Her carreer is likely to take off after this - personally I think she has the potential to carry it off. She certainly has all the physical features required for the job ;)

i'm so happy i don't care how young she is or how thin her resume is. I love seeing a mix girl like me make it on that vogue cover, because it seems so rare in most issues to see a black, or mixed girl.

I'm just very mixed at the whole Vogue thing. I think it's great and this will really catapult Chanel's career, but also I think someone else could have easily replaced her [Bruna, Tanya, even Suvi??]

bruna and tanya are both great---but if their skin was darker, their stock would not be as hot. for chanel to do so well despite the industry's hang up on fair skin, is great. emanuela de paula looks just like anja rubik, who is one of the hottest models now, and she can hardly get a break. so---go chanel!!!

can u guys tell me what girls are on that VOGUE cover ?It´s too smalll....

Doutzen Kroes, Lily Donaldson, Hilary Rhoda, Sasha Pivovarova, and Caroline Trentini on the front cover; Chanel, Raquel Zimmermann, Jessica Stam, Coco Rocha, and Agyness Deyn on the pull-out :flower:

OK!!! I mean really, wow, i just hate talking about the race factor, but it is so prevalent. Chanel should be getting lots more work than she does, she is beautiful, she is thin by model's standards, tall, charming, and she can walk, its ridiculous how skin color/race can deter your career.

she comes into my work a lot. she came in today and i said her name loud on accident because my friend and i were talking about her and she turned around.

LOL! Im hoping I bump into Chanel one day in the city, i wouldnt act like a groupie, i sware.:woot: I think i would ask for a picture, and congratulate her on the present and future, thats all.

You know, there's so much animosity concerning this girl. I'm sorry, but as a black model, of course she doesn't have the same resume as most, if not all, of the other models on the cover.

Why not just consider the cover how they used to be for models back in the day, a jumpstart for careers? When beginning models used to appear on the cover of Vogue, it signaled something great for their careers. Whereas now, models have to be in the upper echelon to even be considered.
