She was in the show on BET for about a minute. She just said it was hard to be a black model and they showed her apperance on Tyra Bank's show.

Chanel was very understated and professional in the Frankie Morello video. I guess she, as well as me, is tired of the constant ridicule she endures because she has so much personality, and is unafraid to shock and glow. Thanks Sethii.

WOW, she made the Bottega Veneta Resort collection look as if each piece is a million dollars, everything fits so well.

I feel bad for BET. It has so much potential to get a message out there for the black community but all it does is perpetuate stereotypes and ideals that most black do not match but because BET's white audience is growing in number, more and more whites are getting the wrong messages about black culture. And Chanel was completely underated in that special. I was hoping they would give more insight into the problem facing black models, but instead it gave the same old same old we've been hearing about racism in the modeling idustry.

In the last few seasons she's already lost so much support from designers.. She used to do and didn't do this season:

D&G
Ralph Lauren
Valentino
Moschino
La Perla
Missoni
Louis Vuitton
Marc by Marc
Marc Jacobs
Diane von Furstenberg
Alexander mcqueen


That is not a good sign for her career (in my opinion) to already be losing hte big name shows..


And, has she NEVER done the Chanel show??

^^^Its no shade, but girl, PLEASE. Chanel is still a force to be reckoned with on the Ford roster. She hasnt even left her teens yet.

No, she has not done Chanel. Jourdan is the only black model to have done Chanel in YEARS, and hers was only a Cruise.

Just when you knock Chanel down, and bid sorrow on her career, she struts right over your wig, and serves the runway.

She is just fine, I am sure.

Lets talk about the things she has done, not wallow in "IS THIS THE END FOR CHANEL?"

I agree somewhat. The race issue is FOREVER, well at least for the next few generations. I also wish BET would have spent a few minutes on that, and then expounded on the careers of some of the girls who are actually kicking the "race" door down. Show them on the high fashion runways, show the viewing audience that Blacks can do it just as well, and in some cases better.

She has a great supermodel physical. But there're something not so variety about her. She still need more time to prove herself. Hope that designers and editers wouldn't get bored of her so soon.

She did Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren. As for MJ, Moschino, D&G, Alexander McQueen, Valentino...she has always been unconsistent with them (she will do them one season and then one season she wont) The only one I was really surprised she didn't do was Vera Wang because she has always done her, but she was probably sick !

I would take one YSL look (even Cruise) over three at La Perla or Moschino . I always see this happen in model threads though -- when we don't get any pictures or editorials for more than a week the fans start getting hives about the model's dying career .
