The more i think about this quote, the less i believe it.

Why is it that Chanel's counterparts, such as Jourdan, are doing double the amount of shows Chanel is doing? If it is true that Chanel is picking what shows she wants to do then why wasn't she at Oscar De La Renta or Donna Karan or Anna Sui? She did some big shows but she missed out on others. So if she is choosing to sit back on these shows while girls who are on the same level as her like Karlie and Jourdan are working, well then that's just a foolish decision on Chanel's part.

She's certainly in no position to pick and chose shows at this point in her career. The big campaign girls,the ones that have cosmetics contracts or the select few industry favourites who can afford to slow down a bit have the privilege to do whatever they want. Chanel is not new, but she's not established enough to willingly not make appearances at shows. She is just having a very slow season in NY and i don't believe it's by choice. I think things will pick up in Europe, though.

I really can't think of a non-white model that has done better in Europe than in NY. But, I guess, in Milan and Paris, I can see people using her over some of the newer girls since she's more established.

I really think she's growing into her look. She looks great at Phi. I was quite surprised she was there, since she wasn't at like Rag&Bone, (Narciso?) and what ever other shows Ashley Brokaw does. I wonder if it was the stylist/designer who had more of a say.

She did far better in Europe last season than she did in NYC...which never happened with her before. Ofcourse, there's no guarantee that will occur again but there's a slight chance. None of the Ford girls seem to be doing that well this season. Kendra Spears, Kate Somers and Lakshmi...with the campaigns she books..you'd expect her to be everywhere.

Chanel doesn't strike me as a Marie Amelie Suave favourite, it was certainly surprising she showed up there.

BTW I noticed a lot of new girls didn't get cast in Sui, only Jourdan (again) was there and then it was all Stam, Agyness, Natasha etc., so I'm not surprised she wasn't cast in there
