Chanel Iman

The Block editorial is simply AMAZING...

She missed their cruise show earlier too....

I don't think she's even in Paris right now, so it's not surprising she's not at Dior.

She was still in LA on Saturday according to her twitter. She's probably spending time with her family. Hopefully, she hasn't burnt any bridges with the Dior/Galliano camp.

^errr i'm pretty sure it seems like chanel has passed her modelling, atleast hf, prime...
that seems to show that, sadly, the world isn't open-minded enough to fully and wholly accept bi-racial models just yet :(

I highly doubt this is even the case she has a close relationship with Galliano, it just seems to me like she's taking a bit of a break from some things.

^I agree with you.
She has worked for Dior/Galiano before so there is no need to make statements like that because she was not at the show.

Its definitely a break, didn't homegirl skip out on the first few days of fashion week in February for a little Miami vacation? I'd like to believe she's at the point where she DOESN'T have to take everything that's thrown at her because she's relevant and in demand.

She looks adorable in my J Crew email!

I think Chanel is concentrating on VS and making money. I think we will see her in less and less shows.

I agree.
She can pick and choose how much she wants to do now.

Exactly. I think it's awfully foolish to say her hf days are numbered when she's just appeared in a Dsquared2 campaign. I still stand by my statement that the sky's the limit for her.

I just watched the Dior couture show and I have to say that most of the walks were HORRID. Chanel would have turned it out.... and still been ridiculed no doubt!

I was wishing she would walk atleast one show during couture week, ugh I still love her. I guess she's been helping her mother out at "Red Bag" ..

You know if you look at things, she really doesn't look like she enjoy's Fashion weeks anymore. I'm sure she loves walking the runway but it's repetitive and even though she is Chanel Iman there's always that girl of the season that get's all the shows and when I mean girl of the season, I mean girl of color that gets the shows. Also, she doesn't seem to be getting anything new. The occasional appearance in Vogue and other side projects like editorials in Vogue Espana and small magazines like the Block. And she even with campaigns, she always does Express and sometimes Gap and even though she got DSquared which is effing amazing, she got ONE shot. One shot and she's not even in the forefront. She's in the back. I think she really has reached as far as she can go. I do have this selfishness for her to continue to do Haute Couture week and still do more castings because comparing from her S/S10 list to her F/W10 list she probably lost connections with designers and could've continued to walk in their shows. Idk, maybe I'm being too analytical about these things about looks like she's shifting toward VS and her career as a collector for her mom's store. She has so much land to cover, yet she's conquered more than any other girl could imagine. But she's wanting to chase after her dreams and who could blame her..

We should just support her and we will.

Her website is almost done. If you go to it there is a pretty fierce intro. Check it out!

I think it's too early to say her HF days are over but sadly, everything so far is pointing in that direction. She barely has any editorial presence after show season so far, the Dsquared campaign is a non-event..she might aswell not have been there, really. I hope the fragrance campaign is big enough to reignite some interest in her, hopefully...it's a only girl gig.
