Not to sound negative or anything, but last time I checked Natasha had a Givenchy campaign, Sasha had Miu Miu....and they had plenty of Blue Chip edits....Chanel didn't even book Express....No shade but Miss Iman needs to change management!

Chanel probably makes more money than both of those campaigns from Victoria Secret.

Sorry to break it to you, but modeling is a business is the models will do what is best for them money wise, probably with little care given to what their fans want them to continue doing (i.e. continued steady high fashion runway/editorial presence.)

That debate about Chanel is interesting to follow but some people do seem to be driven by their dislike for her in their statements. Chanel has achieved incredibly much considering she's a black model. It's still so much harder for a girl of color to book both high quality high fashion and commercial work and Chanel has done both. She doesn't need to prove herself anymore, she's walked so many shows in the past, why not focus on the work that gets her so much more money and more exposure than walking a Haute Couture show?

Yes, these girls are booking campaigns, but Chanel would be making way more money. The amount of HF campaigns a model books or amount of top shows one walks is irrelevant, it all comes down to money and publicity. Many people (not including the people who follow fashion models) wouldn't even know who Sasha or Natasha are. If you go up to a random on the street and ask them if they could recognise any of the top HF models now, they could not do it, but everyone knows the VS girls. What Chanel is doing is great, good for her for wanting to branch out and try new things, why should she just stick to the HF label.

thank u above 2 posts ... i think us chanel fans have all matured in our expectations & understanding of her modelling game ... thats why i keep saying she is anomaly because its more than just about having the HF/editorial cache but having the broader appeal & strategic approach & intentionality to her career that supers of the 90s posessed ...

she is managing to do both (commerical & HF) which is hard for any model these days (remember that the trend of VS girls --> HF is a trend in the industry, she bucks that trend however because she was a HF girl first & as we know, HF --> VS often means the end of one's HF opportunities), but given that she's a black model, makes her achievements even more impressive ... she's one of a kind!!!!

I agree with nightclubbing, they need to ease up on retouching her face. She looks cartoonish.
