Chanel S/S 2026 Pre-Collection

He's got his work cut out for him. This is a lot to take on for sure. High fashion of the 90s is completely over. This collection is good but it's very pedestrian my god. It's understandable. That's what people want.

^^^ I mean Helmut Lang always focused on exploiting timeless silhouettes, he modernized and elevated them so no wonder his works still look relevant in 2025. I don't think Chanel fall 1995 would be on the same level of "modern" and "relevant" either, Chanel code always has that matronly undertone and it's what makes the brand "desirable" to wealthy ladies.

Something about his sensibility is very Milan for me. This is not elevated to in the way that Chanel should be and he is not good with color. It’s dowdy and dusty. He’s not much better with color than VV

Those first 7 looks could fit right in a Maria grazia collection or Mansur Gabriel for that matter.

I’m not a Chanel customer so I don’t particularly care what happens to this brand in 2025 and beyond. Shut it down lol

Anna Wore it to the Show.

I actually like this pre-season collection. I believe they may be taking the approach that the RTW collections are, just that, ready-to-wear; which would leave more space for higher end territory in couture. Chanel operates with RTW, coco beach, accessories, high jewelry and then beauty (I believe those are all the categories), so to leave more headspace for couture to become elevate would be smart.

This would allow RTW to feel more everyday, and couture could be the fantasy it's supposed to be again.
Just a thought. I am excited to see what is done in January for couture, as it would tie things together as a more full vision.
